Forums - Sony - Yoshida on PS3 Support: "F*!K Vita", “All of Our Large Teams Will Move on to PS4

Good, Vita was never a threat to Nintendo anyway. Sony is the king of consoles and Nintendo, hand helds. Microsoft is the ugly step child that nobody pays attention to anymore lol.

I'll allow myself to get excited about those once they're given western release dates.  At least with a European title developed for an American/European market (i.e. Tearaway) it's known that they'll release here at some point.  Although I'm expecting 3 of those 4 titles to make it across, no confirmation makes it difficult to get excited about them.

P.S. Destiny of Souls is 2013.

P.P.S. How is Toro's Friend Network not shovelware yet Invizimals is?

Which one are you not expecting to get localized? Over My Dead Body 2? Shu has personally already commented on it, saying he'd be really disappointed if it somehow didn't make its way over, so chances are surprisingly good. Guess I'm a little out of the loop on DoS.

And I don't know, Invizimals just looks like genuine shovelware to me.

Yeah.  Shu says a lot of things.  Having seen the media for the game, I don't see it appealing to a large enough western audience to make it worthwhile Sony localizing.  Nippon Ichi or someone could probably be profitable with it; but Sony would be better off chasing Tales or something.  It'd be an incredibly difficult sell for Yoshida; even if he really meant that (he likes pandering to fans, and that's what fans would want to see).

You do understand Over My Dead Body 2 is 1st party and Tales is 3rd party, right?  There's plenty they can do to help Namco bring it over, but still, I'm not worried about OMD2 (tired of typing the whole thing out).

Yes, and that's what I'm saying.  I'm sure they'd make more money by approaching Namco; offering to localize Tales of Hearts (let's say) and splitting the profits with them; rather than localizing OMDB2 and having the whole of the profits to themselves, because the audience for a game like that will be so much smaller.

By having a "2" at the end of the game, too, will put a lot of people off as well.  Even though the stories aren't reliant on each other, if it came over as the sequel to a PSP game which no-one got to play, I can see it severely hindering the game in a way that a Tales of title wouldn't get hindered.

Who knows.  I'd play it if it came over here.  But they had no interest in localizing the first game despite it being first party, so Yoshida's empty promises for the second game doesn't give me much hope either.

That's on you, like I said, I'm not worried about it.

It was originally a 1999 PS1 game btw, the PSP version was just a port.

I know.  But that just makes matters worse, not better :P

That certainly doesn't sound worse to me. If they made a new game of that calibur in the PSP era and didn't localize, then I might be more concerned.

Well did the PSP even have a large team working on a game for it? You won't really need a large team to make handheld games. Tearaway for example looks stunning and it's made by a small team at Mm.

Yea, I don't remember any big yber super Sony titles expect Gran Turismo for PSP, which sucked. Some random game releases has made me buy 3 different PSP consoles..(No games = I sell my psp = new game released = i buy psp)

Take my love, take my land..

You can't fault him for going with the smartest strategy. Why put so much development focus on the Vita when it's never going to be even a mildly successful system? Frankly it should be getting the least attention out of the three.
