Forums - Sony - Yoshida on PS3 Support: "F*!K Vita", “All of Our Large Teams Will Move on to PS4

Well he didn't say that exactly, but it's still not looking good.

Then again, the Vita does only need small teams.

This is a very skewed title.
No where was it said that Sony isnt going to keep supporting the ps3 and ps vita. All that was said was sony's big teams are focusing on the ps4. Would it make any sense to have naughty dog and santa monica work on anything else?

I smell a beef here. Someone jumped the gun.

i read the article and understood it. after seeing whats capable on the vita with killzone mercenary it would be be incredible to see what a big studio and a big team like naughty dog or sony santa monica can do with it. it doesnt have to be sony santa monica or naughty dog. but when you are excluding all big teams, that kind of says a lot about your support to your own handheld.

there is no beef here, i just call things how i see them.

Y'all act like they were even making games for the Vita in the first place.

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."

Good, Sony finally realised that there is just no market for the Vita, at least in the west. They should see if PS4 remote play or the Vita TV can make a change and if that doesn't help then they should stop wasting money on western vita support immediately, let the indies use it and just make sure to drive down the production cost of that thing. Japan is another thing, but it does get decent support in Japan anyway.

And to the people saying that Sony should let their big internal studios develop big console like experiences for the Vita, why don't you tell them to just burn the money? Seriously they'd never make their money back and it's time you guys admitted to yourselves that the vita just doesn't appeal to alot of people, if people want the console experience they'll get a console, it's cheaper to get a PS3 which still has better graphics and better/more games anyway.
So the big Sony Studios are way better of making games for the PS4.

That was cold man, way too cold.

You can't fault him for going with the smartest strategy. Why put so much development focus on the Vita when it's never going to be even a mildly successful system? Frankly it should be getting the least attention out of the three.

By that logic, I guess you think Nintendo needs to focus more on the 3DS and less on the Wii U?

"Success" is a subjective term. Indies will tell you Vita is a successful pltform for them.

Its never going to match the 3DS overall, but some Vita games now outsell PS3, PSP and 3DS counterparts in Japan. So its clearly doing something right.
