Forums - Gaming Discussion - Bayonetta 2 vs Final Fantasy XV announcement reactions show some double standards.

To be fair, people had no faith in FF15 back when it was still called Versus 13, so a lot of fans were probably willing to get the NGage if that's what it took to eventually get that cool game they saw back in the PS2-era.

Love and tolerate.

It's because Bayo went from two devices to one, while Final Fantasy went from one device to two.

Nothing to do with next gen. Everybody just wants to play the games ;)

neither of those two being the original announced device.

And does that matter?

Nope. Still going from 1/3 of the market to 2/3.

if bayonetta 2 was announced as ps4 or xone exclusive, you think the reaction would have been the same? this thread somewhat proves the answer is a big NO. So the rage is not about the game not coming to their current platforms, it's about the game coming to nintendo only. basically, double standards.

Do you even read your own arguments?

Why would people be upset with a sequel of a game that they liked being on the next gen systems that they are planning on buying?

Because people care more about a game they know will come out?

because 6 years before, they were told it would be on their current system.

Well, not much I can say there.  There had to be well over a dozen comments in that video!  Immense blacklash indeed!

Dude, look, I understand, you want it to be a big deal so that it seems like a big win for Nintendo, but let's be realistic about this.  While I actually DO think it's a nice win for Nintendo, how many people do you think were honestly upset by this?  Most people who played it probably don't even know about the switch.  I guess that a large chunk of the negative comments were just fanboys looking for a reason to flame and, even then, a few hundred or even a few thousand people online complaining isn't a big deal by any stretch of the immagination.  Of course, more than a few of those comments were directed at Sega for failing to publish Bayonetta 2 and are quite justified.

I only counted 9 posters lol

Now they are being told that it's going to be on their next system. I'm pretty sure that the people who care about FF and are not planning on buying a PS4/One are upset, but there aren't many of those. On the other hand I'd bet that many Bayonetta fans are not planning on buying a Wii U which is why they are upset. Stop acting like Nintendo gets a different treatment.

Wasn't Pikmin 3 originally planned for the Wii? You don't see Nintendo fans upset that it moved to the Wii U. They would have been upset however if it went exclusively to Playstation (I know it's impossible it's just an example).

Or most people who have a PS3 are planning on getting a PS4, so they aren't missing out on anything.

That was cruel.  You shouldn't break the OP in the second comment, it's just inconsiderate.

On a side note, I love how "a few die-hard fans complaining online" turns into  "immense backslash".  I'm sorry, but only a relatively few people care about Bayonetta.  The exaggeration of that response is the only thing "immense" about it.

Go on youtube right now and you can see a wide amout of  people still complaining about it. Or go on Gamefaqs, its really amusing

The reasons are obvious and really funny because many actually bought a PS3 also in anticipation of Final Fantasy 13 Versus (double standards as usual). To make a different example with a new IP, a lot of the same people who cried about Bayonetta 2 were really happy with the DeepDown reveal. Also in my opinion it has also alot to do with how old you are, because in all honesty I´m not really surprised by some crazy reactions from the GTA fanbase and "50cent" "gangster rap" generation both audiences that aren´t likely to have any interest on Nintendo hardware due to it´s family friendly image.

Cost vs Utility.

Bayonetta 2 is being released on a console which typically isn't associated with games of its like, and which probably won't see too many more of them. So someone who might be interested in other games in the same vein would have to buy another system anyway, in all likelihood.

With Final Fantasy XV, the game is being released on a console where like games are relatively common. So someone who might be interested in other games in the same vein probably won't have to buy another system.

Basically, Bayonetta fans don't want a Wii U, but Final Fantasy fans will likely want a PS4. In general.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.
