It's nice to hear about the free upgrade to windows 10. As a windows 7 user, I'm glad I never upgraded to windows 8. Can't wait to try all the cool new features, especially the xbox one/PC streaming.

Yeah that's pretty nice of MS. Not sure how they'll make money on it since business is a buisness after all. There has been a lot of good news for the PC community the past week.

Yo Empire members I just wanted to quickly ask if someone could explain about Windows 10 being free. Does it mean if you upgrade in its first year that you'll keep Windows 10 forever without having to pay for anything or do you have to pay after a year or something?

New Battletoads Likely in the Works

Viewers of yesterday's Windows 10 Live Event will have noticed that Phil Spencer was once again sporting a gaming-themed t-shirt. The franchise in question is Battletoads, but no game announcement was actually made during the Live Event.

So was Phil just leading everyone on? Probably not. GameSpot asked the Xbox head whether he was teasing an announcement or not. His reply was:

"I don't think I've ever worn a t-shirt that's been a complete head-fake. I wouldn't do that."

In other words a Battletoads title of some description probably is currently in development. Microsoft renewed the trademark for the franchise late last year, and the IP was of course originally developed by Rare, who are set for 'a huge year' in 2015. So is Rare working on a new Battletoads title? You wouldn't want to bet against it.

Age of Empires 4 Xbox One timed exclusivity before coming to PC would be a good move

X360 is very profitable for them

They do well in keeping the 360, after all it prints money.

I've never played any Rare games but I just looked up gameplay pics of Banjo-Kazooie and it looks similar to Croc...is it?? If so then I'm very interested in a new game
