Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Could MK8, Bayo2 and X run on a PS3[60]

could they?

yes 280 32.52%

no 341 39.61%

maybe one of them could 124 14.40%

maybe two of them could 41 4.76%

see results 75 8.71%

Total:861

Of course they could be ported to run on almost any system ever made. I believe what the OP meant was can they run on the PS360 with the same framerate, resolution, textures, etc. To which the answer is no.

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

there is nothing really impressive graphically from these games, the idea of these games running on current gen hardware could be accepted easily. yes, they might have lower res textures a bit or the draw distance to be lower a tad. but they could easily run on current gen hardware. this has nothing to do with the quality of the game, but just the technical side of the game.

Then it wouldn't be the same version. It would run on PS3/360 in the same way that Modern Warfare 3 runs on the Wii; doesn't mean the PS3/360 versions have Wii graphics, or that X/Bayo 2 have PS360 graphics.

not really, just because it has a bit lower res textures or a bit of difference of draw distance doesnt mean its not the same game. that means that red dead redemption on the PS3 isnt the same game on the 360 because the 360 version runs on a slightly higher resolution. nothing drastice would really change, just a few touches here in there. its not like MK8 or bayonetta 2 have outstanding graphics either.

The Wii U has more than twice as much RAM available for games as the PS3 and 360. In the Bayonetta 2 demo, the city stretches far into the background with relatively detailed buildings, best visible at the end of the demo when the demon is fought atop the tower. There aren't any good images of it that I could find, but here's a narrower angle one that doesn't show the whole cityscape:

Given that Platinum had 1GB of RAM at their disposal compared to less than 500MB on PS3/360, I'd say these scenes demonstrate quite a bit more than the 7th gen consoles can do.

X and Bayonetta 2, no.
X's massive detailed environments are almost certainly too much for PS360's mere 512MB of RAM, same goes for the detailed cityscapes in the background of the frantic action of the Bayoneta 2 E3 demo.

MK8 could probably be done on PS3/360 though.

Those games didn't look that great.

What I find really is impressive is the Wii U can run them at 60 fps and 1080p.

Speak for yourself. To me, this is gorgeous:

But the thread wasn't about how good they looked, it was about whether they could run on a PS3 or 360.

Yes. They all could run on it with slightly downgraded visuals (framerate for splitscreen Mario Kart, draw distance in X etc) just like most PS4 & X1 games could run on Wii U with downgraded visuals (but probably more so). Scalability is massive these days.

Judging from the gameplay videos, Bayonetta 2 looks like its running at 720p.. same with X.

MK8 is the only game from those 3 titles that is confirmed to be 1080p/60 fps.

Yes, but that should not downgrade them for being potentially good games.

God dam that looks beautiful!

No they can't, easy as that. You won't have the same quality. Of course you can build versions for ps360 but they would look worse.
