Since both the X1 and PS4 are similar to PC's.

 Do you even think it's smart for Sony to go the route they are?

Maybe MS see's this coming and is already bracing for the storm.

The amount of lost sales in games may be made up by X1, just because people are willing to pay for it new, day ONE. 

Maybe why MS is so eager to stay the course. They have ran the numbers many times.

UPDATE: I would like to add that people usually hack to have free software or games. If a system provides the easiest route to this, Thats the way they will go.

Not everyone is a super hacker and has a motive behind it.  Actually, usually it is about not to pay for anything. So lets keep this in mind.

If you look at MS Bank account you will realize they are really good at doing the numbers.

No I don't think it will be hacked very soon.

Eventually it will so will the X1. The PS3 was thought to be unhackable and it got hacked.

Always Online is not preventing the Xbox from being hacked. Could very well be that Hackers make the XBox 1 offline only some day.

Also PS3 took years to hack and even today its very inconvinient. 360 was hacked right away and ows part of its success to the fact that people could easily pirate games on it.

I do trust Sony more in that department MS record isnt really good when it comes to hacked consoles. XBox 1 was a pirates dream and 360 wasnt much better either.

If that happens, PS4 will officially be the new PS2

I think the Xbone is going to get hacked on principle this next gen just like Sony did this gen by anonymous groups if they keep going on the way they are.

Yes but I took three to four years for that achievement. Sony is totally aware that they are the target N°1 for hackers, and gonna put some enforced security in it for sure.
