Forums - Sony - You think PS4 will be hacked day one? Updated!

I don't see either console getting hacked for at least a year after launch

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

As others have said, it might be easier, but I don't think it'll be a target. The target will most likely be Xbox One due to the DRM measures they're planning. I can imagine hackers will start releasing workarounds to the 24hr check as soon as they possibly can.

One day not day one.

Since both the X1 and PS4 are similar to PC's.

Do you even think it's smart for Sony to go the route they are?

Maybe MS see's this coming and is already bracing for the storm.

The amount of lost sales in games may be made up by X1, just because people are willing to pay for it new, day ONE.

Maybe why MS is so eager to stay the course. They have ran the numbers many times.

What do you think?

Nah Im pretty sure hackers will be eager to hack the xbone more to kill drm and allow offline play, let us disconnect kinect etc.

Hacking Xbone and PS4 is *not* easier than on current consoles, it is even more complicated :) Just because they use x86 doesn't mean anything.

If that happens, PS4 will officially be the new PS2

I agree. USA and Europe are not the only markets for consoles. Once they are hacked the doors of the rest of the world markets are open to be conquered

MS has been dealing with Hackers since Windows was released. I think there experience for online products is far beyond Nintendo and Sony. So i would say MS would be more on the ball then the other 2.

Hence DRM policies.

Nope all the hackers will be concentrating on the X1, nothing hackers like more than an anti consumer product that they can tear apart. PS4 its gonna get a free pass till the hackers have completely removed the need for online checks on games. Especially now we know if you get banned from xbox live you will lose all your X1 games forever.

You sure about that? Or is it that what is most easiest, is what they will use for free games. Cause it's not just hakers, it's people who are cheap and rather not pay for games. If PS4 allows for any old random guy to hack it with a step by step video, which is going to happen. Boom it's done.

No one has made threats and or problems. Unless your a hacker and we don't know it?

Computers where always easier to hack, Was not meaning, just to have free sh-t.

So your telling me if a piece of hardware is really easy to get free game or software on, people would rather go for the harder hardware. Not all hacker are Anonymous and have a reason behind it.

I find that people are not looking at all points of views. Just I want cheap games, no matter the cost to the industry.

Yeah im 100% sure, One has a big red target painted on its ass for the hackers to come and have a go. Same happened to PS3 after they removed linux support for exising users, these people hate anything anti consumer. The kudos for being the first hacker to get One to work completley offline will be far to much for any of them to resist.

And lets face it if it was about ease to hack, id still bet on the One being first, PS3 and Vita have both proven very difficult to hack, and Vita is just off the shelf components, Sony are much better at hardware protection than MS.
