PS3 took forever to be hacked what make you think they will hack the PS4 so easily.

PS4 doesn't have the cell.

It wont get hacked day 1 but it might a few months down the line. Pretty much anything is hackable nowadays.

considering the Wii U has been already hacked, and these consoles are even closer to a PC than ever before, its likely to be hacked within the same timeframe as the Wii u. the PS4 will come much later because it is very consumer friendly so hackers will not have the drive to hack and they don't have any reason to hack it. It can't gain backwards compatibility or Linux because it wasn't built in. Maybe someone could extensively hack it to make it into a decent computer but that's the only reason and it isn't very viable.

Why is the OP trying to put words in peoples mouths? Who are you to say why most hackers do what they do? Most people hack the console to get extra features/remove bullshit features. Same reason any modifies something physically. To personalize it.

Also just because the PS4 is closer to a PC doesn't mean it will be easier to hack than the PS3. It may well be, but that wont be the reason.

I thought the reason it got hacked was because someone leaked the master key? It wasn't because it was actually 'hacked' or am I confusing myself with later development?

If the XBoxOne's SO shares code with the Windows (as many expect) some of the Windows vulnerabilities may be used to hack it.

While both consoles (PS4 and the XBoxOne) can be hard hack in theory (especially due custom software + hardware protections), once someone manages to run non-signed code on the hardware the hacker scene is going to grow very fast because there are many programmers are used to x84 hardware also there are plenty of tool that could be used or adapted for helping them creating their homebrews.

Ironically, since the Wii U seems to have a more customized hardware (especially its GPU) hackers may find it difficult to use its *true power* on their homebrews.

I think someone will be smart enough to figure it out. So,my answer is yes,why the hell not.
