Forums - Movies & TV - OFFICIAL New Star Wars Movies THREAD (Episode 7 3D, 8 3D, 9 3D & solos 3D)

Didn't read the thread, but I'll say this: I'm a little worried for this saga, to be honest...

Well, appearatly Disney must have had someone at their company come up with one hell of a script for a trilogy taking place after episode 6.

Which is really the only logical reason for Disney to spend so much money to be such a franchise. They wouldn't risk such big amount of money unless they already had something solid.

To top it off, the script is only being supervise by J.J. Abrams, so no worries there.

All in all, it sounds like it will be actually good unlike episode 2 & 3.

So logically, it seems that there is very little reason to worry. Plus Disney can be counted on, on making good direct to theaters sequels.

^Yeah, even with all that, I do not know why. I still have some sort of the hebie-jeebies about the whole stuff...
But I shall still hope for the best.

On the side-note, I heard about the first 3 Star Wars (chronologically speaking) movies getting a lot of hate and I just don't get it, I thought they were done rather well. Or maybe their stuffs I might be blind and not see.

Episode 2 just didn't have much stories & plots, at least not for a star wars movie.

Episode 3 might have at least been better then episode 5, but I have rarely seen EP 5 growing up as it was rarely shown on TV.

Plus people just remember the old Star Wars movies being better because they saw them when they where kids, so their memory is over exaggerated. They compare their adult experience of the new movies with their kid experience watching the old movies. So they basically fool themselves.

I'm glad I'm of a younger generation to be more familiar with the quality of the first & second trilogy in more proper comparison.

Mark Hamill deserve lots of millions because of his future performance in Episode VII. He was not payed what he deserved for the previous SW movies. That goes to all the SW cast of actors too. I am glad Disney bought the franchise.

Hopefully Mark Hamill will get some plastic surgery before performing his role in the movie, because he looks quite old. lol :D

I think they are going to play their aged selves in this movie.

Nice God of War pic for your profile picture.

I wouldn't be surpirse if a different actor plays a young Han Solo for the Han Solo movie, since he must have been on some pretty good adventures in his line of work, and then there is how Han Solo meant Lando Cool and how he adopted Lando's cloths like the white shirt & black vest, as shown in the end of Episode 5.

You can tell by watching episode 5 that Han Solo clealry looked up to Lando Cool and stuff.

I hope there is some background story to Han Solo spdone in his movie as well. And that they get an actor who will really look like a young Harrison Ford...more younger then he looked in the first Star Wars movie.

I actually grew up on the old ones way before they announced Episode 1, so I guess I was one the few that was open-minded. X'D But yeah, I have to agree that 2 was very straight foward to the point you can guess what's going to happen in 10 cutscenes later and felt rushed... Still, seeing Yoda in action was bloody brilliant! :)

Blimey, seeing the talks about the older trilogies really wants me to go watch them again and this time really pay more attention to the aesthetics closely. Shame I never had the opportunity to aquire the DVD's... -_-'

I loved the J.J directed Star Trek & Super 8, also loved the J.J produced Cloverfield.

So really, he's the only bit of hope I have for the film.

So you could say, he is your.... get ready for it.... Last Hope?

I want to see Star-Trek just so I know what he's like. I watched Cloverfield when it released to cinemas and liked it.

After it was announced that the were going to make Episodes VII-IX and that VII would be directed by JJ Abrams, I got pumped up about SW for the first time in a long time, and I recently started reading the "Thrawn Trilogy" of Star Wars books (Heir To The Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command), written by Timothy Zahn in the early 90's and generally viewed by fans as the "unofficial" sequel trilogy to the original SW films.

I've had these books sitting on my shelf since they first came out, and only got through the first book when I was a kid and barely remembered the plot. I'm about 1/3 of the way through the 3rd book now, and all I can say is I wish they had made these into movies, as they would have been an excellent followup to the original trilogy, with maybe a few minor tweaks here and there.

Anyone else read these and feel the same way? I also loved Shadows of the Empire... fits like a glove right between Episode V and VI and bridges the small gap between the films perfectly.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
