After it was announced that the were going to make Episodes VII-IX and that VII would be directed by JJ Abrams, I got pumped up about SW for the first time in a long time, and I recently started reading the "Thrawn Trilogy" of Star Wars books (Heir To The Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command), written by Timothy Zahn in the early 90's and generally viewed by fans as the "unofficial" sequel trilogy to the original SW films.
I've had these books sitting on my shelf since they first came out, and only got through the first book when I was a kid and barely remembered the plot. I'm about 1/3 of the way through the 3rd book now, and all I can say is I wish they had made these into movies, as they would have been an excellent followup to the original trilogy, with maybe a few minor tweaks here and there.
Anyone else read these and feel the same way? I also loved Shadows of the Empire... fits like a glove right between Episode V and VI and bridges the small gap between the films perfectly.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
