I never said the 360 D-Pad was good. Neither are good, although the new switchable 360 D-Pad is decent. I said the four button Playstation D-Pad is stupid. I've never liked it. The best D-Pads are on the SNES, Sega Saturn, Genesis, PC Engine, NES, etc.

What do you mean the D-Pad on the PS4 controller are too close together. I honestly don't understand what you mean.

This is what a D-Pad is supposed to look like:

Not like this:

Look at the difference. There's a reason it has always been called the D-PAD and not D-Buttons.

The Playstation D-PAD IS a pad, they're not individual buttons, they're all connected underneath. It operates and feels the same as any other D-PAD.

I am well aware of how it is built. I've taken Playstation controllers apart o fix them on numerous occasions.

It does NOT feel the same and it only operates in a similar fashion. By separating the D-Pad it feels terrible and I look forward to a Playstation controller with a Vita like D-Pad. A real D-Pad.

Look at the SNES pad and then at the Dualshock buttons. The space between the buttons is almost exactly the same and the SNES controller has that same indentation in the middle, it just looks uglier.

Yes it does look uglier, but it also doesn't feel the same. Not the same at all. It does not have the rocker feel of the classic perfect D-Pads of yore. That's why I'm looking forward to the PS4 design if it is in fast like the Vita. Nothing feels better than those 16-bit D-Pads and Sony looks to have finaly figured that out.

This guy gets it.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

The only thing that makes me think this isnt the final product, is in the ps4 teaser video where the circle button comes up yellow, but i do believe this is a legit "concept model"

Funny

if it's a touch pad it will be like a vita

and whats the vita like?  _____________

Really hate these "who copied who" crap debates, but its well known that Nintendo are the innovators mostly, while the competition slowly adopts it/tries to improve it to their liking.  Not acknowledging nintendo properly, is only bad for your mental health.

looks to me like someone is unfamiliar with the fact that touchpads and screens were used in pdas, laptops etc for years before they were used in gaming

all game companies did is include those concepts in their hardware

Hope it's not final.

I doubt it's final. I'm sure it will be a little more refined. What specifically don't you like about it?

not a fan of Sony's recent analog sticks. This one could be better, but at least it looks worse aesthetically.
Not sure what the screen is for. Seems a little big.
Also not sure if it has triggers.

Yeah, most of your concernes are unknowns right now. Nobody even knows if that is in fact a PS4 controller. We will probably find out in a week.

looks interesting.
no select or start buttons. most likely just a prototype.
