Looks more ergonomic, which is good. The existing one is too blocky.

I still don't think you can do as much with a touch pad as a touch screen |
You're right.
But Touchpads have an advantage over Touchscreens, that is that they can be used without taking your eyes off the TV. Think of it as just another button. I can see it being used to quickly switch between apps like you do on an iPhone. I'm sure devs will find uses for it in-game.

i might be okay with it if it wasn't layer after layer of fat.. Controller needs to flatten down a bit.. and WHY are the L1/R1 buttons gone.
Other than that.. seems fine... wish there was a cap to put over the mic, though.. I can see dirt getting jammed up in there.

Could you imagine going back to a controller that didn't have as many buttons as they do now. I almost feel warm and fuzzy just thinking about it... so simple. Such simple times....
I like the Dpad on the Genesis controller. It was a comfortable controller except sometimes I did not know whether to use my fingers or my thumb on the A-C buttons... The PSX D-pad didn't work because you had to put more pressure on the pad than was probably necessary if it was raised out of the casing. My d-pads became pretty worn and stiff on my older controllers I think for that reason.
The controller seems to have put on some weight, but the touch screen makes up for it. Also, I think the "share" button is actually either Select or Start, also If you look closely at the right side of the controller it also has a button above the pink square. We shall find out soon enough. :D To the hype train!

lol, I had friend that did that with fighting games. I was never good at fighting games so I thought I was doing it wrong, but when I tried with my fingers I just failed more epically.

The L1/R1 buttons are there, look again. You just can't see the triggers L2 and R2 in that picture.
I also have to disagree with the fat/flat statement. Not sure what you are getting at. A falt controller would be incredibly uncomfortable.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Roma gonna hate because he is Roma. In other words, Sony gives him a free PS4, games, and free PlayStation services and he would claim that Nintendo innovated giving prizes away before Sony. |
that made me LOL
but wait I'm known as a hater? that much of a hater?

@Roma They're only claiming you're a hater because being critical of Sony is not ok, but being critical of Ninty is okey dokey.
OT: This is similar to the Wii's motion control and PS3's six axis.

I hope the final version looks more finished. I guess it's okay after looking at it a bit more... But, I hope it doesn't cost a million dollars. DS3 was 50 dollars, and that thing may end up being $79.99. If I have to pay that much, I will be the ONLY one using DS4 controllers. If the game's not DS3 compatible, you're not playing.
