No seriously why do some of you care that much if Sony sells more than another system and vice versa with MS and Nintendo (although it's mostly sony people who harp on this). Do you get some sort of satisfaction if Sony/MS/ or Nintendo do better or what I really don't get it. I'm sure someone on here will say this is a sales website we should care I get that but some people take it way out of hand.

Its a sales website, I already get annoyed at the amount of non sale threads here. I have hope though, with the dawn of a new gen sales talk will be more important than ever.

if people dont care about sales how will we be able to have dozens of doom threads at the same time? without doom threads the internet is useless

this is a console system sales site. the people on here mainly live and breathe the console sales wars. everyone wants their favourite console system to outsell the other console systems.

Because I find it interesting.

Why do people cheer for anything. Sports team, politicians, car brands or brands in general. People end up associating their self worth based on things they like and endorse. I always see people complaining about money all the time and than go buy expensive concert or sport event tickets for multiple hundreds of dollars.

More specifically for consoles. I'd at least want the console to do good enough so it doesn't go under like Dreamcast. It doesn't have to be first but a relatively good install base will insure good first and third party support. In some cases when you are last you get end up getting better value like PS plus. Sony would not have done it if they were leading like PS2 days.

In the OP I said I get that this is a sales website but some people blow it up out of proportion and go overboard with threads and comments. You want your favorite system to win I get that but why do some have to insult other people when doing it?
