Here's hoping it receives similar scores from the big sites.

I hate the artstyle to be honest. It is so Japanese and I am not into Manga / Anime at all.

And the 1 review so far is lower than the metacritic of skyrim. I lol'd.

*shrugs* There is so much fun to be had from Manga / Anime, so that's a bit of a shame. Yet there is so much good entertainment (books/music/TV shows/movies/games), that you can't possibly enjoy every good thing out there, so I do understand why you would limit yourself where possible.

I don't know what people like about Manga / Anime. I watched some of it, but could just not get into it.
And I did not expect that this would actually surprise some people here.

That's because it's just such an incredibly broad field. Personally I'm convinced there is something in there for absolutely everybody, just like everybody likes some movie or some song/music.

I don't blame you for not searching for those anime / manga you would enjoy though as most of the mainstream stuff is pretty predictable and cookie-cutter. Putting in extra effort to search for what suits your taste is unreasonable after having bad experiences with the most hyped ones.

Similarly I don't search for rap/hip-hop music I'd enjoy as I know that I pretty much despise 90 or more % of those songs (I really like "Gangsters Paradise" though).

Oh my god, I thought his comment would cause these reactions. Well, at my youth, I also used to watch anime's a lot (Tenchi Muyo, Gits, Akira, OMG and so on...) but nowadays I don't watch it anymore and yes, I can't see the artstyle anymore. Perhaps I overdid it in my youth but really: just accept other opinions. This is not limiting but favoring. Perhaps he consumes media you don't even think of and has fun with it, too, which you perhaps never have.

Furthermore, I think the japanese-stuff was at some time cool in the west but I believe this trend is over. But you can be happy that a JRPG is coming! Have fun.

how people even try to argue if skyrim or a jrpg are better is so funny.

"pokemon is better in every aspect" - yeah good that both games have probably exactly 0 things similiar to each other so both games are better as the other game in every aspect lol

i am a huge elder scrolls fan and i can't wait for ni no kuni but none of them will be a better rpg because jrpg and western rpg aren't comparable (at least not the first person western rpgs). that's even worse as comparing mario kart with gran turismo.

and @turkish

so you feel sry for people who didn't watch what they aren't interested in?  you should feel sry for someone if he would watch what he doesn't like and not vice versa

didn't persona just average 95%?

anyhoo, i want to play but i think i'm going to hold out a while. lots of other games to play and i have a feeling it will drop in price within a few months.

Skyrim is the best RPG of the gen.

This is a JRPG and JRPG's suck!

Pokemon kills skyrim in every aspect.

Skyrim best RPG this gen? Its not even better than Oblivion...

I own Game of the Year Editions of Oblivion, Morrowind, and Skyrim.  skyrim is leagues better than both Oblivion and Morrowind.  Better in pretty much every way.

Skyrim is the best Elder Scrolls game to date.

Don't be silly. Other than  graphics, Morrowind crushes Skyrim. Hand crafted, hand places items and dungeons and enemies in a World very alien and unique to what we usually see >>>>>>>>>>> Dragons. Pretty Graphics.

Edit: And as far as Oblivion vs Skyrim goes, Skyrim went backwards in areas like quests.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

Skyrim is pretty bad if you don't play the PC Version and mod the hell out of it.
Search on google > Skyrim with 100 mods....There you can see how Skyrim should have been in the 1st place.Bethesda was lazy as f...
You can't say they weren't able to do that themself. They were just lazy.
Skyrim normal Version = one of the most boring games of this Gen.It doesn't even look good. The content is lame, the combat is lame and everything else is lame.
Hell the modders should get the money Bethesda did. They made a completely new game out of it.A GOOD GAME.

@Topic
I LOVED the Japanese Version of NiNoKuni
It was a great experience and i had a lot of fun with it.Its clearly on top with Xenoblade in this weak Gen of J-RPGs.
Probably will buy it just to support them cause they did put in the effort to bring it to the west.

First off, no need to call me god, Lafiel is fine.

And yes, I do limit myself in other parts to have more time for media I'm more convinced I'll enjoy. I think I did point out that I perfectly understand that. Yet, I can't help to feel it's a shame people won't give something as broad as anime /manga a chance because of "how it looks" when there is such a great variety of styles and experiences to be had there.

Just as an example I personally don't like how Gears of War looks, yet I do play some 3rd person shooters.

Btw, I already own a (japanese) copy of Ninokuni.
