God of war was taking preorders way before gears. Gears didn't start till last month.
GTA will beat GOW next week. Im hoping for GOW to pull out some big numbers which I think it should achieve due to the hype about ascension.
Surely God of War: Ascension is overtracked?

It's very obvious that MGS Rising will fail. It would be doing worse if not by Metal Gear's strong name.

Not to smite VGC's efforts, but recent examples would be Halo 4 and Black Ops 2, which were both adjusted upwards "massively" in the last few weeks before release.
