Maybe you're forgetting about the part of the huge console exclusives...
Yes everything else is possible with pc, not as convenient though. Maybe you can operate win8 with an xbox controller, definitely not win7.

What about the huge PC exclusives?

You can operate Steam with a controller, and thus act like it's a dedicated gaming console lol.

PC's do not have as many worthwhile exclusives as consoles do.

XCOM. (my favorite game at the moment)

Civilization

War Of the Roses

Mount and Blade

Total War.

Carrier Command

FTL

Torchlight 2

Tribes

ARMA

DOTA 2

League Of Legends

HoN

I could go on and on about it. but even with that said, PC gaming never was about exclusives, its exploiting all the untapped potential of games.

If we count games that you cannot emulate and games across the other consoles, there are definitely more Console-exclusive games worth playing than PC.  This is, however, rather subjective to begin with.  DOTA 2, LoL, and HoN aren't quite games I'm used to.  Maybe one day I'll start playing games like those, but right now I'm not into that genre very much.

The games I recognize from that list are Civilization, DOTA 2, LoL, HoN, and Torchlight 2.

I know other games you'd surely list, I'm not completely oblivious to PC-exclusives.  I have a few myself.

None of the games I mentioned can be emulated by consoles, except Tribes.

Console exclusives. That is all.

PC is a must have especially after 4-5 years in a console Gen.
Multiplats look just so much superior and thanks to the mod scene you get games that already look like 2 Gens ahead.
People on console get a hard on over Call of Duty or Halo....I just say > Battlefield 3 Ultra Settings and 64 Player MP with big ass maps.
There is nothing that comes close to this perfection of a shooter in this Gen - Especially cause FPS got nearly consolized in the last years and then you get something like Battlefield 3.Something completely rare in these days cause someone is using the Power of a PC and doesn't really care for the Consoles and shows the difference in Power.
These days a lot of Multiplat devs give PC and consoles nearly identical Versions cause they are either afraid people on consoles won't buy their game or they just don't have enough reasons for PC Players to BUY their game.A lof of FPS try to be CoD or lose their +points to work on consoles for example like Crysis2.Got completely consolized and its a shame how far they have sunk.

Skyrim is a good example too.
Look at those Screenshots from the "Skyrim with 100 Mods" Threads and Articles.
You can't really try to believe Bethesda couldn't do this themself...They just went for low quality and no effort cause their main object was the Xbox360.Even on PC the untouched version didn't look much better.
This is a shame and a disgrace.Gladly they said they love to see what the Mod Community can do....The Mod Community should get the money for the sales to be honest. They did so much more and did put a lot more effort in it.They didn't sacrifice everything for the money.
Bethesda clearly showed they did hold back so the 360 version runs close to the untouched PC Version and their players don't get a reason to be angry. There are a lot of 360 players that think their Skyrim is the true version and it can do what a PC can do.....

PC + PS3 is in this Gen the by far best combination for gaming you can have.
You get all the Multiplats that get released on all platforms on PC > Best graphics usually. But sometimes especially for sports games a console version is better.
You get Console Multiplats on the PS3 cause they usually now run better there > Dead or Alive 5,J-RPGs and stuff.
And the variety on Retail high quality AAA Exclusives is in favor of the PS3 too.You can get there a lot of stuff that is pretty much unique or the best of its Genre.

Here is one against, playing hunched over a keyboard sucks ass and is not precise at all because of lack of analoge-control

I just have 1 reason why i prefer consoles. I like to put the game and play it (that includes have to install the game, spend time and money, than i dont have that much, thinking in what its the best way to built my pc, have to setting every part of the game, like graphics, etc.) plus, i cant play a games like gears of war trilogy (except for the 1) and lost odyssey, and many others than you can play only in consoles.

But, i have envy, sometime, in the graphics department.

Best Games/Serie of the Generation

I will tell you why PC gaming looses people to consoles

1) PC gaming is complicated. Every game may or may not work perfectly on your computer and you have to dink around with performance options to find settings where the game runs (if at all) properly on your machine.

2) PC gaming is designed for Keyboard + Mouse which are great for certain genre that evolved with such setup in mind, but terrible for many types of games designed with console controllers in mind. Easy example is fighting and action games. Sure you can get a controller... but this takes things back to point #1 which is PC gaming is complicated. Not all controllers work in all games. You might be using third party software like Xpadder to map keys, etc.

3) Local multiplayer support is nearly non-existent.

4) PC gaming is expensive. Sure the games are cheap due to Steam, but new games cost about the same and the hardware requirements to play Battlefield 3 on PC optimally are waaay higher than it costs to just play the game on X360 or PS3 for $60 + $250 for console. Just the mid-range graphic card for PC might be $200. The Display for PC can be used for console and vice versa so no cost disparity on display.

5) Console exclusive games don't come to PC at all (for instance from Nintendo or Sony) are are some of the best games created.

I am multi-console and don't ignore PC either... if my PC can play a decent game for it, I will. Rest of my gaming generally on consoles.

1) Yup, this is the real problem, most games work fine, but ocassionally something weird does happen
2) I have not had a single issue with the wired Xbox 360 controller. Admittedly, I only play newer games, but games from this gen will work fine. The only issues that occur will be if you are playing PS2 era games (but you can't play those on console)
3) Yeah
4) I am not so sure. If you are actually building a PC, then you will probably need a PC for other things, so you can't really compared the overall cost of your system to a console. Also, you will recoup the savings by the games just being cheaper and through steam sales
5) So this is why I am not a full  PC gamer

I still think there is something for sitting on your sofa in front of a tv and getting away from your work enviroment. If I play on PC, then I basically won't move for the whole day, which is why I still buy most games on PS3 inspite of the extra price and inferior graphical quality

Why not add the best reason why pc gaming is better.

When you spend a lot of money to buy a high end gaming pc, you can just download the games for free! No need for modchips and you can keep your warranty!

Main reasons why it's best to game on PC AND consoles:
- library of exclusive PC games of the last 25 years available, e.g. through www.gog.com
- library of exclusive games on your favorite console(s)

As always, it all comes down to games, I don't care about the rest.

That is called stealing, most of us are happy to not steal and pay for the games. If people don't pay, games don't get made
