I highly recommend playing all three Smash Bros. games, think-man. The first is the weakest, but still a good time. The second one is a huge improvement, and plays great. I've probably logged 400 hours on it. And Brawl is the all-around best package because of a very nice single-player campaign. But if you want the most balanced game, go with Melee.

In Super Smash melee I loved it because in single player you get to collect over what 150 trophies? and gives you a background history of each item. I collected all of them. Melee was perfect for single player experience and multiplayer with friends.

Couldn't agree more. I don't know if there has ever been such a huge leap between the first and second game in a series. The first Smash Bros. was fun, but the second was a truly great title. I brought it with me to college in 2002 and I've been playing it ever since. When I hang out with my friends from home there are always two titles on the playlist: Melee and Double Dash.

Passive aggressive thread because favorite 2012 game is a 70s metacritic game?

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I recently played SSB on the N64 and that one was pretty "meh" in my opinion, but SSBM on GC was a very good game.

People saying the N64 is the best are probably just nostalgic. Melee improves on everything. Brawl not so much.

Melee was more fast-paced and it didn't have those totally unbalanced ultimates (though I know you can turn them off but the character's abilities have been balanced so that if they have weaker moves in general their ultimate will be a bit stronger).

And I'm just mad they totally blew Sheik in Brawl. And Kirby.

U never played SSB? O boy wait til u do. I played PSASBR at gamestop for couple of hours. It does feel somewhat like a clone but its because of the visuals.

Unbiased opinion: Total honesty. I did get kind of bored of PSASBR after putting some hours. There is a big difference between PSASBR and SSB. What I like about SSB is that there are tons of itmes that you can use or turn them off. You can also smash opponents of the platform or right on the screen of your tv. Some platforms in SSB gives you room to breath, while others make your teeth cringe forcing the individual to think and play fast.

Aw k there seems to be quite alot of items on PSASBR slapping people with a fish is fun lol I haven't tried the single player or online yet, all I've played is in house versus. It's just crazy when you know your friend has a super and you don't want to get to close to him just incase he gets you with it :P . Id be willing to give any game a try that could match or better that kind of excitement.

Did you buy Dead or Alive 5 and your girlfriend got mad because of  all the half naked women in the game and forbid you to buy any fighting game ever again?

Most of my favourite games don't rate that high on the metacritic, Dynasty warriors series is one of my most played and loved games( I know its repetitive and every games a reharsh) and they normally rate 50-60s on metacritic.

SSB has supers now to. Yeah PSASBR does have items. But if you play SSB Melee for example the whole screen can get flooded with items like no tomorrow lolo Guns, balls, baseball bat, rocket launchers, pokemon, hearts, boxes, (donkey kong hammer) which is my favorite. etc. etc.

Actually, no.  I was enticed by the boobies but I held off.  Didn't get Tekken, either.  The only fighting games I like feature either Ryu, Johnny Cage, or Stone Cold Steve Austin, these days.  I don't even play Soul Calibur (my former favorite) anymore.
