Dig deeper, THQ.

yeah yeah... i think THQ is saying that to protect the guy and his reputation but not for(or because of) the reasons you may think, you see if Nintendo makes a game that blows away everything that supposedly can be done with the Wii U (not comparing to other plats, so just think of the Wii U alone), and they have amazing graphics again surpassing the ''limitations'' of the system, then this guy is going to be a complete incompetent to the eyes of the world for complaining about those limitations leaving in exposure that the ''limitations'' are just an excuse (remember that this is hypothetical), hence the ''we could run it on an ipad but we don't have the time/resources'' don't get me wrong that is fine, the problem is that the 4A guy said something he shouldn't have said and he shouldn't have said it because of the reasons the THQ guy has listed... not siding with anyone it just kind of bothers me.

Fact is the Wii U's CPU is slower than the competition which means that they would need to spend extra money to port the game over. Then add the expected sales for this already relatively small IP for a recently released console (whose previous installment showed low interest for mature games) and you will realize that porting the game would be a near idiotic move.

The only scenario where spending extra money on porting the game over to the Wii U would make sense would be if they expected future profit for being loyal to the system's install base,  thus increasing sales for future installments. The truth is though that the future is very cloudy, and that current trends indicates that ignoring a Wii U port will result in the most profitable situation for the company.

You misunderstood, i meant the guy's comment not the lack of a Wii U port and just beacause i agree with the THQ guy, the Wii U is a hot topic at this time and he (the 4A guy) made a bad move by saying that.

Yeah, I just re-read your post and realized we didn't actually disagree about anything...

So, feel free to disregard my post :P

So in summary

They blame their engine as it wont adapt to the Wii U architecture, they say it's possible but needs more resources they don't have, also the Wii U has strengths in other areas that could be used instead of the CPU (i.e GPGPU)

Also Metro 2033 could run on an iPad

well,...then make games originally for the Wii U Problem solved.

I love My Wii U, and the potential it brings to gaming.

And still other teams managed to port/co-develop Assassin's Creed III, CoD Blops 2, Batman AC, Darksiders II and Mass Effect 3. And why shouldn't they, the Wii U is currently the strongest console available for developers.

I read Metro games are so demanding that even the two and a half years old Metro 2033 wouldn't run properly on high settings on my fairly new laptop which could run Skyrim and Battlefield 3 on same settings. Metro games are considered the most demanding PC games around, see e.g. http://steamcommunity.com/app/43110/discussions/0/864948012463071789/?l=german#p1

So, is it really a Wii U problem or are the Metro developers just incapable or unwilling to code their PC games properly which leads to major problems when they want (or are forced) to port them to consoles?

If they dont want or cant make it then fine, its their decision, but dont blame the console because it has a different architecture, maybe the consoles with the wrong architecture are the other ones....

true, but if they ever do decide to port this game to Wii U, maybe now would be a better time. Cause in the future anyone who would of wanted to play this game would have played it and won't buy a 1-2 year old game on the Wii U. But best decision is they probably shouldn't port it, and Wii U fans shouldn't care as its not really that important of a game anyways.

NINTENDO

nintendo forever . . .

Now I demand the Metro app. Give it to us THQ!

The fact is they would have to get a team to understand the system like ps3.

the CPU is costing them it's the hardware because many companies are already saying if you get around with other things in system it become painless to work with.
