Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Should I buy a Wii U??? (I'm a PS3 fan)

Tagged games:

Unless the other two companies change their strategy next generation, it'll probably be the best local multiplayer console. If that matters enough to you to spend $300 on hardware, then do it.

If you are a PS3 fan, then buying a Wii U will contribute to Nintendo losses this quarter so go for it.

Yes you should

is there any game that you desperately need to play as soon as possible? if you took more than 3 seconds to come out with an answer, the answer is no. Wait and force nintendo to make a better case. Super mario wiiU is not the best Wiiu mario game that can be made with today standards.

Stop giving in and let nintendo that think that a New Super Mario Bros is enough. Its not enough.

But I'm seeking a different kind of experience from this console. Namely, sit on the couch with my gf and have fun playing a game for a couple of hours. Her niece is the only one to use the console in an extensive way (and she loves platformers and Mario). And for the looks of it, this console is going to give me that.

So far it's a yes. It looks like a console I'll ejoy with her (it's what I'm looking). And that NintendoLand thing looks good :)

Why are you even asking this? You're dead to me.

Well, like Train Wreck said, it'll contribute to Nintendo losing money :).

Plus I'll keep buying PS3 games and it will continue to be my main console.

And I will never stop being a PS fan , I just love their stuff!

guaranteed booty after every session

For me at least, one of the best prospects with the wii u is the asymmetrical multiplayer. I have friends and family who are pretty damn terrible at games so they stay far away from them. I wanna play a co op game, but they say they would rather watch type thing. With the gamepad, i could let them play on the gamepad and help me in a game like NSMBU so its not really all up to them and their skill. This seems like a great gateway to gaming for the newcomer and provides a solid chunk of content for the seasoned gamer :P I vote yes

Well I sold XBox 360 and PS3 for a Wii-U. I have already a PC. Yes Wii-U is awesome...faster browser, gamepad advantage, universal remote, UPDATE COMING DECEMBER....etc...etc...

"Do you think a Wii ->WiiU upgrade is good for her??? or would she be equally happy with just the Wii?" -

Wii-U is backwards compatible.

Im telling you this straight up, all the Nintendo fans will shout "Yes" at you to buy the console and all the ps360 fans will shout "No" so at the end of the day you gotta think to yourself do I really need this? is there something this other console offers that I really want? If you don't plan on using it much or if you're only planing on really playing it with the gf then Id say don't bother getting one until they are cheaper. There are plenty of party games already on the ps3 you can play, If you are actually planning on playing the fu*k out of it so that you get your moneys worth then Id say go ahead and get it.

I just saw it, no its not. Xbox Live and PSN are still beyond it. Their next gen online offerings will be better. The controller does feel really good though.
