Ima go out on a limb and say that harada thought the Wii brand was for kiddies and casuals, thus simplified gameplay made sense, in which case, lolololololol.

Ima go out on a limb and say that Harada saw the sales of the 3DS version of Tekken 6 and thought 'I don’t want this repeated on the Wii U'.  So he wanted to play to the strengths of the Wii U, which is the tablet, but Nintendo was not having that, and thus the game is going to be sent out to die, again.

This game on the Wii U is destined not to do very well regardless of what they do. The least they could do is keep it intact for the most part and hope some Tekken will be made out of it.

Capcom released Street fighter 4 as a launch title and it was super successful.  They played to the strengeths of the 3DS (3D and friendly touch controls plus core gameplay) and added multiple modes and robust online to make the purchase worth it.  Tekken 3D prime offered Tekken gameplay, and touch controls but most reviews noted the lack of available options as the games weakness, making the purchase not worth it.  It seems Harada wanted to follow the same forulma that made Street fighter successful at launch for 3DS with Tekken U (strengths of the Wii U Controller, make friendly touch controls, add more modes and the untested online) but...

3DS version of Tekken 6 really *was* sent out to die, don't know what went on there. They already have touch-screen controls, so making it a retardified version of the game would have gotten them nothing but ridicule.

Thats the thing and why I reference the launch of Street Fighter 4 on the 3DS (which harada also mentioned) on my replay to Areym.  They knew where they screwed up for that game (Tekken Prime) and did not want to make the same mistake again.

Where are you inferring "add modes" out of the OP? "Streamlining," is the key word here.

Tekken Ball is an added mode that is not in the PS360 versions, it can be played seriously or for fun something, something that will appeal to both the core and casual who play the game.

And Tekken Ball is in this game...

Nintendo's usually not one to step on the toes of third parties about what kind of content can and can't be in their games (not anymore. If anything they lean too far the other direction, with "do what you want" solutions for online gaming). If they told Harada he shouldn't be doing this "streamlining", then it probably wasn't a good thing for him to be doing

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

This "Wii U is for casuals" is a consensus that almost the entire video game industry believes (both gamers, developers, and publishers).

It's going to be extremely difficult for Nintendo, or simply impossible for them, to ever get rid of this image. The Wii U's fate is already attempting to be sealed by those who have predetermined thoughts about the system.

Simply don't expect strong third party offerings (like GTA 5), as they will most likely never be released on the system.

I don't understand that sentence, can someone make it more simplify? :S
