I was just in ASDA (the UK name for Walmart) at the gaming section and I noticed that the place where the PS Vita consoles, games and accessories are usually displayed were replaced by discount DVD's (like 300 for £3...which I ended up buying. What a bargain!). I looked around to see if they had changed the display position for the PS Vita, but they hadn't. Every other console (3DS, PS3, Wii, iPod touch, X360 and even the DS) was displayed except for the Vita.
I'm not sure if every ASDA in the UK has discontinued the PS Vita (perhaps a UK vgchartzer can check their local ASDA?), but even so, it certainly doesn't bode well for the Vitas future in the UK. Especially considering ASDA is one of the largest supermarket chains in the UK, if not the largest.
I can understand why ASDA have made this decision though...they are a profit-maximising company, so its understandable that they'd want to stop selling it if it wasnt making them any money, given that retail space is so precious. It just baffles me that a dedicated gaming handheld like the Vita is less profitable to ASDA than some discount DVD's...
It needs a price cut ASAP.
