If the PS3 wins this generation, I'm gonna predict that SEGA will re-enter the console market and win the next generation!

PS3 will join the PS2 and PS1 and become the third Play Station console system that will go on and sell 100 million console systems ltd. PS3 keeps on selling and selling.

PS3 after 4 years  on the market had sold 40 million console systems. Averaging 10 million per year. PS1 after its first 4 years on the market had sold around 40 million console systems. PS3 is selling on pace with the PS1. 

The console market has grown. competition is now stronger. The 7th console generation could see Wii and PS3 both sell over 100 million console systems in the same console generation a world first. 

PS3 is guaranteed to sell 100 million console systems this generation. PS3 is a Play Station console system  and that guarantees success. 

If it makes u happy living in that world.. it's ok for me...

But you know that there will be a new nintendo and x-box before 2016...? 

Do u also recognizes, that x-box 1 sold 10 mill. and ps2 140 mill.  and if ps3 should win be a cople of million (over 360.) ... it's still ms who are the true  winner...?

Well, I guess you could take the "technically anything is possible" stance but I'm not feeling it.

I reckon when all is said and done PS3/360 are going to end up very close, maybe with PS3 a tad ahead if EMEAA manages to outweigh US or 360 a tad ahead if US manages to outweigh EMEAA.

Wii will almost certainly be ahead of both, and comfortably too.

Unless I see some serious suggestions of massive trend changes (and I don't yet, Move and Kinect notwithstanding) then I'm sticking with that view.

Well PS3 have the chance, really tiny chance but its there. it'll gonna all depend on the longebity that can reach each of the current consoles.

Not Wii though, Wii Sports and Wii Fit will continue to sell as long as people want to get fit. But certainly PS3 will overpass 360, since now that Kinect is out, M$ got nothing else, not even Bungie.

Just read today's Kotaku, 1 UP and Gamespot posting, its Little Big Planet 2, Uncharted 3, Resistance 3, Killzone 3, Ni No Ku Ni, DC Universe Online, all massive exclusives for PS3 in 2011, nothing on 360.

And PS3 already have Cliffy B (Bulletstorm), Bungie (unknowned Activision game), Valve and Mass Effect, so anyone buy a PS3 will have all the former exclusives of 360 and the true exclusives of PS3, plus an super awesome cheap 3D Blu-ray machine.

Wii will dominate this gen, MUCH more room to change price before the next gen comes out due to considerably lower production cost and the current profit that is made on each console, whereas the possibility of PS3 price cut is not set in concrete due to the profit made only recently and barely in double figures.

I highly doubt that PS3 will overtake Wii this generation or even when the next one is out.. Whereas it has a shot at overtaking 360. Not sure why people keep saying that the Line up is such an important aspect for 2011, those games will move ~50-100k HW each at the maximum, it's the price cut or better promotions that will define when or if the PS3 will overtake 360, I think that the US i the biggest factor in this equation, the game that did come out that would encourage the move of HW was GT5 and as people saw last week.. There was a statistical tie despite 360 not having any major releases in that time frame.. Now before the people will start shouting "NO MARKETING@!@!@@", There was last week.. Yet the drop off for EMEAA is ~50% and is likely even higher for Japan/America.

PS3beats360 should be banned for trolling the PS3.
