I think he is referencing the next model of PS3, which will be slimmed down again and have a price cut. Since holidays are coming up, it could easily close the distance considerably between the PS3 and 360, and also, it will take around a year for the 360 to get a slimmer model, that is if it is going to get one at all, bc the 360 doesnt have the endurance or staying power in the market like the PS3 will. When the PS4 is out, the PS3 will be selling in the 2nd and 3rd world for quite a long time to come, but MSFT on the other hand who has America/Canada/Great Britain as its main markets, would be better served by putting the new stuff out as its main product.

I still don't understand why people are arguing about who's number 2 or number 3, they both lost this gen already so why give a flying fuck?

But hey, it would be nice to have some sales discussion again. When you put it that way, why give a crap about any console sales? Because it interests us and there's a debate to be had.

Anyway, it seems almost like a given now that the PS3 will overtake the 360.

That's kinda true, and yes, I think the PS3 will overtake the 360, it really was only a matter of time and I predicted that 2 years ago, I think most people who saw the trend did lol.
