MGS4: Guns of the Patriots was an amazing experience the first couple times I played it, but when it comes to replaying it, I can't stand the game. Drebin is totally unnecessary, the bosses suck because they have no character whatsoever and are annoying with their poorly acted screams, crying, and laughing, the ending SUCKS, and there's very little room for interpretation. I rated it a 10/10 after I played it twice, but now I feel like it's a solid 8/10. It also infuriated me that you could have about 9 or 10 items equipped for easy access, but only 5 weapons. WTF?

I think MGS4 could've been polished out so much more. I don't even know where to begin.

Kojima would've been able to put out a complete version of the game if Sony would've allowed him to release it on two Blu Ray discs like it should've been.

I don't think he did fill up 50 GB.

But one thing he could've polished out is the stealth gameplay as you said. I need an incentive to use the tools he's given, because you can breeze through the game without using them. The game engine could've been better too.

There is so much that could've been fixed. But I really can't be bothered to write them down. The same goes for MGO. It's flawed in so many ways, especially the body mechanics. The idea and execution of the online play and features is brilliant. But technical blunders really tainted the game.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

MGO's matchmaking is terrible...other than that it is pretty good

Nevermind the lagswitchers, glitchers, messed up body mechanics, and the sort. Have you ever noticed how people teleport after getting 'naded? That's not lag, fyi. That's Konami failing. Not to mention how sometimes scans fail to come through.

It has many problems which Konami are too lazy to fix. And it takes too long to get cheaters banned.

He couldn't because Sony told him not to. If he did he would've made the Blu Ray Disc seem pointless for ambitious devs leaving multiple discs to still be an option. Sony didn't want this, so they told him not to add and cut him off at one Blu Ray disc.

I voted for MGS but they should have had an option for Twin Snakes it my preferred version. Great story with MGS2 graphics.

I didn't include Twin Snakes because it was a remake. Plus, a lot of people thought the game's cut scenes were cheesy, as Kojima did not use MGS2 graphics, instead he experimented with different graphics.

Kojima didn't develop TTS I believe he was a supervising producer similar to Rising right now

He was sort of behind the cheesy cutscenes though.  Kitamura's team originally did the cinemas more faithfully to MGS1, Kojima rejected it and asked them to differentiate everything and make it more over the top.

you have a link to all this?

Sure.

Kind of misleading what you originally wrote.

From the link:
"Mr. Kitamura really respected and honored the original work, so like the helicopter, the chopper flying up, the scene there is pretty loyal to the original scene. But then we said, "This isn't it. If we're going to have Mr. Kitamura do it, we want him to do it his way." So what you're not seeing now, but what you'll see later on in the game is totally different. You'll be shocked."

So yes, originally Kitamura stayed true to the original.  And yes, Kojima rejected it.  But Kojima didn't tell him to make it more over the top, he just wanted Kitamura to do it the way that he (Kitamura) wanted to.  It just so happened that Kitamura likes things to be over the top.  I've only seen one of Kitamura's works (Versus), and I haven't played Twin Snakes, so I can't comment on whether or not it follows his style, but from the interview, all the cheesy cutscenes were the work of Kitamura.

OP:  My favorite MGS game is MGS3.  The only real complaint I have about the game is that while the boss fights were great, the bosses themselves weren't all that interesting.

Kitamura's known for high action films with similarly over the top spectacle, reread exactly what Kojima says "This isn't it. If we're going to have Mr. Kitamura do it, we want him to do it his way.".  Kitamura's inclination was to stay true to the original games (likely due to being a huge fan of the game), while Kojima explicitly hired him due to the style of his films.  Basically Kojima's saying he wanted the movies in Kitamura's film style (ie: over the top) or they wouldn't have hired him.

Besides which, the buck stops at Kojima.  The cheese wouldn't have made it through unless he signed off...

Easily the Subsistence version of Metal Gear Solid 3. MGS4 had better mechanics but MGS3 was still the better game.

Definitely MGS4 for me. Truly a masterpiece.

do you have a link or proof of Sony telling Kojima/Konami what they can do with "their game" ?

MGS1 is itself really just a remake though, of Metal Gear 2.

Honestly, I think Twin Snakes would've been a better option than Portable Ops (which isn't even a full MGS).

MGS2 is itself just a remake though, of Metal Gear Solid which itself is a remake of Metal Gear 2

TTS is not canon, MGS1 is, the poll is about the main saga, which should include MG and MG2 (MSX2 versions) but the OP decided to leave them out, so PO should be there

The canon diverges.  MG2, Snake's Revenge, MGS1, Twin Snakes and Ghost Babel are all essentially "alternate timelines" following MG1.  MG2 and MGS1 literally can't exist in the same canon, though I'm not sure if Kojima ever gave a preference for one or the other.

the canon does not diverge, the official canon released by Konami on PSN includes MG1, MG2, MGS, MGS2, MGS3, MGS:PO, and MGS4, although the English translation contains mistakes its canon, and it does not include MG1(NES), Snakes Revenge, Ghost Babel, Acid, Twin Snakes, Comic Book mini series etc.  and explain your last sentence more
