How many Nintendo´s fan dislikes the Zelda franchise ?

I've tired to play Zelda:TP and it's just never interested me enough to keep me playing, it felt boring and what I really disliked was the fact that no one in the world speaks, I don't care if link is mute, but the rest of the world should speak, at least during important story moments.

So it's not so much that I dislike the zelda franchise, it's more that it's not my cup of tea.

The only Zelda which I found charming and absolutely no issue with the lack of voice acting was Wind Waker, I didn't play it my self, I watched my Sister play the game.
For some reason people disliked the game, but to be honest this is the style that zelda should have, I hope Nintendo returns to the Wind Waker style for Wii Zelda, perhaps then I may just give the franchise another go.

NO! Don't say such things toward our majesty King of Video Games Mario! .......sorry master but adam is a betrayer.

The people who don't like it are usually on the lower end of the intelligence spectrum, they get confused at all the puzzles and can never finish a dungeon.

That, or they are communists.

It's funny how you should mention that you believe OOT was a great game, but TP seems like the same old thing.

Nintendo released a couple of great Zelda games between OOT and TP.  They included Manjoras Mask and Wind Waker.  They had innovative and original concepts that really evolved the series as a whole.  The problem?  Many people didn't like it.  They scoffed at not being able to play as adult link in Manjoras Mask.  They criticized it's lack of dungeons (only 4) and the time traveling system was completely not what they were used to.  They laughed at Wind Waker's graphical style, and how the game took place on an ocean.  Btw: some of the islands in WW were bigger than the areas of OOT.

Basically what I am saying is that Nintendo delivered two amazing games between OOT and TP.  The fans complained, saying that they wanted to play as adult Link in an experience similar to OOT.  The fans wanted it, and Nintendo delivered.  What you recieved was an amazing game, but one that didn't do much different than it's predecessor.  Then, people criticized it for not doing much different than it's predecessor.

To summarize, people complain when things change.

Wind Waker isn't innovative, and it began a trend that continues with Twilight Princess. They're more of the same, and in many aspects both games have bad gameplay mechanics that make them worse than their N64 predecessors.

I agree with the OP. At one time I adored Zelda, hell I lived and breathed it. I bought an SNES, Game Boy, N64, and a Gamecube for Zelda. All my school folders had Zelda drawings all over the front and back, my graphing calculator had monochrome artwork painstakingly created during boring Calculus lectures, I was known as Zelda-boy throughout high school (yes, seriously). However, I don't like Zelda anymore, in fact I think it's a joke that people still fawn over it. Maybe to a newcomer it's fun, but to someone who played since the beginning and still considers the first game the best game, the series is plain lame.

It's just weird to me that I'm still a Nintendo fan, but I now despise Zelda. I sold Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass, I'm looking to trade away Twilight Princess, and Spirit Tracks will be the first Zelda game that I won't buy. Zelda, in my opinion, is either mediocre or just plain BAD now. I tried replaying Twilight Princess and the beginning of the game is so utterly terrible, the character design so bad, that I couldn't get more than 5 hours into it. I've tried replaying TWW 4 times now with the hopes of liking it, but I just can't (note: I loved the first 10 or so hours that I played TWW, then I realized how repetitive and mundane the world was, I hate it now).

I just feel like the series has been surpassed by many other games. The sense of exploration and discovery of Zelda has been utterly demolished by just about every other AAA game out there, combat has hardly evolved at all (TP showed some improvement, but not enough), gameplay mechanics haven't evolved, story presentation hasn't evolved (all text is okay though); the series as a whole has stagnated, which is just plain depressing.

With all that said, I still watch Zelda and I'm anticipating the Zelda Wii unveiling, hoping against hope that it will redefine the series the way LoZ, LttP, OoT, and MM redefined the series.

Sounds like you arent very good at adventure games or thinking outside the box =) You have to really investigate your surroundings in Zelda games and try many things in order to advance.

Zelda games are pretty well accepted by most, if not all, Nintendo owners.

Wind Waker had unique style, items, setting, minigames and is the only game I know that takes place on the ocean like it does.  So, how do you define innovating?  I know it isn't breathtakingly innovative, but much more than what we usually get nowadays.

You despise Zelda? Thats a heavy word to use, especially if you used to love the series so much. What games have surpassed Zelda's exploration? What "bad gameplay mechanics" do wind waker and twilight princess hold compared to OoT? I doubt you can say anything that isn't either false, or preferenced. Wind Waker had innovation, just not too much gameplay-wise. Also, all the big 3D Mario titles are very similar, why don't you complain about that? Because its Mario? Why should Zelda have to change so drastically if Mario doesn't have to? Because you can hardly compare Mario to anything, but Zelda has quite a bit of comparisons to other games. Zelda's a more competitive series than Mario in the fact that it could potentially be surpassed because it does what a lot of other games do out there, unlike Mario. Still, its rather stupid to "despise" Zelda just because you may find something that, to you, is better than it. Out-performed perhaps (in your opinion), but despise? Did you want it to be better than all the rest that badly? Did it let you down? No wonder you don't like it anymore - you overloaded yourself. Over-obsession often leads to getting sick of that obsession one day, and being hostile towards it.
