Now that I am thinking about it (and have bothered to dig up the data), this could actually be a daily feature (though I am not sure I will have the time to update it daily) - PSV launch titles in comparison to 3DS launch titles.

First shipment for MH3G is 420,000. That seems low considering the pre-orders.

Also, I didn't know MH3 was overshipped. That explains the legs.

1154 points, will certinlay pass 1,200 now and I hope for a 500,000 first week opening with 3DS hardware over 250,000.

undershipped, 2nd lot should be more then or the same.

Oooooo... Yeah the MH3 was way overshipped. They shipped a million FW and ended up with 580k sell through (58%) which is quite low. I think they should ship something like 600-700k, as it will definitely sell those. 420k seems a bit too low, and they may end up shipping at least 100k more in the weekend. We'll see i guess!

3DS this week may be over 200k! Can the 3DS break DS's December record?

Edit:  DS's record not counting week ending December 3 stands at 1.7 million... so yeah that's impossible. I did check DS's second biggest December and it lies at a whopping 1.3 million. TBH if the 3DS sells 1 mil+ in December alone, then that would be huge.

Incredibly, the 3DS have a hardware base of 4 million in Japan by the end of th year, which is an excellent start for any console in Japan!
