yeah true...but with 300K pre-orders could it get to 500K launch (thats the barrier it should reach)

TheSource says 500K at launch

TheSource under-estimates PS3 games 90% of the time, so we might see GT5 launching higher than 500K.

yeah true...but with 300K pre-orders could it get to 500K launch (thats the barrier it should reach)

TheSource says 500K at launch

TheSource under-estimates PS3 games 90% of the time, so we might see GT5 launching higher than 500K.

That would be on par with what GT4 did...a little lower actually, so it makes even more sense.

GT5 launching at 600-700k would be fantastic really! But i dont know about that really. If it boosts alot  this week then maybe, but it doesnt look that great at the moment. Really Sony just announcing the release date 2 weeks before wasnt a good idea...

And do i really have to nag about DKCR anymore? ... Yes.. Yes i should!! :(

I know this isn't fully on topic.

But for GT5 week Worldwide. Source thinks close to 1.2 Million units is possible for PS3.

If the game is THAT big. I have no doubt in my mind it can open up to at least 500k in Japan.

MGS4 opened up to 480k there, and GT is a much bigger franchise. GT also has special edition PS3 bundles to go along with the standard bundles that are bound to happen all throughout the Holidays.

Hopefully... It will be a Million seller in Japan by years end!

I have no idea why the source expects a 250k-350k opening. No real basis on that :/ it will perform better than kirby though, im pretty sure nintendo will market it by reminding the public of DKC. But does DK still hold a place in the japanese hearts?

A comparison we will be doing between Tales Of Graces (Wii0 And Tales Of Graces (PS3) right up to the launch.

Note: Tales Of Graces (Wii) ended at 357pt

Tales Of Vesperia (PS3) ended at 483pt

Comparison:

Tales Of Graces (Wii) At 19 Days from end of pre-order tracking -- 230pt (It had an increase of 6pt from the day before)

Tales Of Graces F (PS3) At 19 Days from end of pre-order tracking -- 327pt (It had an increase of 11pt from the day before)

Tales Of Vesperia (PS3) At 19 Days from end of pre-order tracking -- 316pt (It had an increase of 8pt from the day before)

The PS3 version continues to stay ahead! At this rate it should pass the Wii versions "total" points before launch within a week.

TOG (PS3) is also ahead of Tales Of Vesperia in a similar timeframe!!

PS3's performance has been fantastic, it seems the Tales fan base in Japan resides on the PS3!


Good stuff.  Tales of Graces is looking like it will have a strong opening.  Maybe strong enough to convince them to localize the game (although that's dreaming).

There's a lot of extra stuff in it. Like The code geass costume, Hatsune Miku? and etc. so it reall helping Tales of Graces a lot.

Well, I think they are learning their lessons now. There is an upcoming Tales exclusive for the PS3.
