1 point = 1 unit preordered at COMG's stores, it says on their site that the value is as of their store closing each day. People are just extrapolating that data in this thread to estimate the nationwide preorder numbers, since there really isn't much other data to work with concerning preorders in Japan.

COMG isn't providing a nationwide estimate here. It's their own sales data! The same page has their sales of new and used games on it as well. Here's their store locations.

Wait, so that means it's the average # of preorders across all of their stores then? /confused again

Senran Kagura did 120k !

Its was at 100 pts in the COMG chartz, so its near from the reality ( 20% of digital sales like always )



Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

It doesn't make sense to me that One Piece 2 has over 500k pre-orders right now. Maybe he meant retail orders?

For some reason the games should be coming out March 21 but they're coming out March 20 which is one day earlier than usual.

I think they were pushed forward because March 20 is the Vernal Equinox Day which is a public holiday in Japan.

I think those are retail orders. One Piece was a revelation last year, BUT it wasn't that well received by gamers so I think retail is overstocking, but the game won't have the same impact. That's my opinion though so I might be wrong!
