Forums - Gaming Discussion - Best Year for Every System by Game Quality?

Hang on. 2010 should nort even be included we do not know what games will arive in 2010- could be one of the best years for all three systems.

360 best year so far was 2007. Maybe 2010 could be the best year for the 360. Halo:Reach, Alan Wake, Fable 3, Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell: Comviction, etc.
360: 2007>2008>2009>2006>2005

PS3 best year so far was 2009. For 2010: Gran turismo 5, God of War 3, Heavy Rain, etc.
PS3: 2009>2008>2007>2006

Wii games for 2010 include Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Zelda game and a New Metroid game, etc.
Wii: 2007>2009>2008>2006.

2010 will be the best year for all three system. I put $VG 2000 on it. Boo yeah.

This.

The Source seems dead set on convincing himself that 2010 for the 360 will not be a great year.

2010 is going to be the best for pretty much every current gen console (I don't really know about the handhelds). It is, however, slightly too early to tell, as though PS3 does have GT 5 and FF XIII, the 2 most anticipated games for PS3 and GoW III, MnR and probably a few more. Then again, this year did have Uncharted 2, KZ 2, Ratchet and inFamous (Demon's Souls is not out here)

There are still loads of question marks, we will certainly get something from SCE Liverpool/Evolution studios and maybe from Sucker Punch (hopefully!). The big question though is Agent

Let's not forget about the multi platform games, the main ones were Batman, MW 2, AC II and DA O (and I am going to leave L4D II out of this one....). So the big games coming out this year, that need to match them are;

Mafia II
Red Dead Redemption
CoD Vietnam
Medal of Honour
Battlefield Bad Company 2
Dante's Inferno
Dead Space 2?

It is too early to call, though I can say the PS3 has improved every year, same with 360 though it may have faltered this year with Halo Wars and Battlestations Pacific being the only ones that interest me. Next year I am already excited about Crackdown 2, Fable III and ME 2 {and that is ignoring the great, but far too stealthy/spooky for my liking, looking SCC and Alan Wake oh and Reach}

I just have to say this... You are so wrong on the 360's 2010.

I guess for me when I talk about game quality I'm talking about variety and innovation. So for X360 I'm not saying it doesn't have games that appeal to its audience, but in terms of stuff to be really excited about because its new and fresh it does seem a little past its prime. Natal may shake this up, but it probably won't see its best content, if it is successful until 2011/2012.

In that case, can you tell us what the Wii has lined up that makes its lineup the best it's had?

If you don't mind... I have no idea what the Wii has lined up.

We're counting 2010? It looks to be the best year ever in gaming so my high expectations place it near the top.

Galaxy 2, Metroid, Zelda, Monster Hunter, Tales of Graces, No More Heroes, Fragile, Sin and Punishment 2, Red Steel 2, Epic Mickey. I'm sure I've missed plenty but this looks like the first truly great year for the Wii. However I still say 360 has the superior lineup. Hell it has 3 great titles right in January and 2 of them are probably going to be rated over 9.0 universally (Bayonetta and ME2). The software lineup doesn't slow down either.

360: 2010 > 2007 > 2009 = 2008

I got mine in 2007 so I can't really think back to 2005-6.

PS3: 2009 > 2010 > 2008 > 2007

^Based on what we know now of 2010. Could change to '10 > '09.
