How do you know 2010 is going to be better then any other year if were only a week in 2010? All these games comoing out could turn out to be horrible?

PS3: 2009 > 2008 > 2007 > 2006

Wii: 2007 > 2006 > 2008 > 2009

Fact: Whenever a StarCraft game comes out, it is the greatest year ever.

1998: StarCraft came out, and brought some friends, including Half-Life, The Ocarina of Time, and Metal Gear Solid.

2010: StarCraft II comes out, and it's bringing some friends, including Motion+ Zelda, Natal, Final Fantasy 13, Gran Turismo 5, Vitality Sensor, the Halo prequel, and much more.

We know 2010 will be a good year because every three years since 1983/1986, top developers put out their top content. Initially, it was to try to ride the Famicom/NES which were driven by top internal Nintendo content. When it became clear there was nothing internal from Nintendo to drive SNES in 1995, alot of the stuff from other top developers began appearing on PS1/Saturn/GB to keep the industry going.

1983-1986-1989-1992-1995-1998-2001-2004-2007-2010...

Those are essentially the legendary years. If you look back in these years there is usually record setting software sales either industry wide or for certain top games.

We know 2010 will kick ass because Mass Effect 2 is coming.

We'll see where 2010 will end up.

Funny enough 2010 has a chance for first place.

I'm not sure for PSP and other gen's systems.

PSP has God Eater coming out and that game alone looks to be enough. It LOOKS like it would be an MH3 on steroids, it could also flop, but from the video shown in VGC, it looks very promising. I am glad I have my PSP3000 hehe.

PS3

2010>2009>2008>2007>2006. GT5 and GOW3 alone make 2010 more than worth it for the PS3. On my personal taste I did like Indigo Prophecy alot so my hopes are high for Heavy Rain. Then Ar Tonelico 3, The Last Rebellion, Yakuza 3, WKC are all on my list (several others too).

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

I know 2004 was the San Andreas year, but I seem to remember 2005 more fondly for some reason

I normally never agree with this guy, but this is a genius post hehe. Starcraft did bring friends along that time and it looks to bring friends with baseball bats, machine guns and rocket launchers this year: ME2 (not a fan but I can appreciate its greatness), Zelda Wii, Alan Wake, GT5, FFXIII, Bayonetta, Halo, WKC, Yakuza3, Crackdown 2, etc, etc, etc.

There is a HUUUUGE lineup of games across all 3 systems and I find it IMPOSSIBLE for EVERY one of those games to suck. At WORST each system will have 1 game a pop that makes the year worth it.

For 360 I'm very confidentl it's gonna be:

2010 > 2007 > 2008 > 2006 > 2009 > 2005
