Whats the best console for rpg gaming

Anyways, i hate monopolys, and nintendo has had its crown for far to long when it comes to portable gaming, and in MY opinion, i feel Sony has done portable gaming better then the Nintendo has done with the DS this gen, im not saying the DS is bad, just PSP is better for various reasons, exclusive games like PSP2 being one of those examples. along with Crisis Core and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep and many others.

 

I couldnt disagree more with that bolded part. Monopolys are there for a reason and the reason why nintendo holds a monopoly is because they are the only developer that can differenciate between handheld gaming and console gaming.......the PSP is just a gimped ps2 and as such will receive gimped ps2 games while the DS will get games that will not fundamentally work unless they are on the DS. So what exactly has sony done better than nintendo in portable gaming this gen?

Nintendo rightfully should hold the monopoly over handhelds because I can guarantee if another company held it with the same mentality as sony (where handheld gaming=console games) than for sure handheld gaming will die.

Pfft, i respect your opinion dude, however i strongly disagree with you, no one deserves a monoply, no one, the PS2 was great but even it went way over-board, Original Xbox should have gotton more shine and Gamecube should have been FAAAR better then what it actually was.

i don't believe in 1 gaming platform > all others, you can if you want, but just remember, the one who controls over all can ask for any price they want for there games and products, tell me, do you really want that? because i don't which is why i'll continue to support the PSP more then the DS yet still enjoy what the DS has to offer nice and fairly. *tips hat* good day sir.

Believe me when I say that this is the only monopoly I support....the DS has only released games that cannot be outdone if they were ported to other systems which is why I cannot understand why you say that the psp has done more for portable gaming when the contrary is fact. The

DS is the monopoly because it does everything its suppose to do right and what it is suppose to be is a handheld machine.....something the psp fails to do.

Depends...

DS is the best on handhelds, easily.

On consoles, it's between PS3 and 360. If you want to count RPG's from previous gen's, then PS3 is easily the way to go. If you want to keep it just to this gen... I would say it's a tie between the 2 consoles.

If your basing this off of original titles, i can stand tall at that since PSP has many original titles for the Portable gamer.

For great example, Phantasy Star Portable 2 is the only Phantasy Star game in the "Universe" saga to have a true blue Sequel because the original was such a smash hit on PSP, therefore creating the only original game after the ones released on the PS2,360 and PC versions.

Take it for what it is, but i believe the PSP deserves praise for not being destroyed by nintendo out the gate like quite a few others such as N-Gage did.

The DS, by a long shot. And it gets even more outstretched if you get a DSLite and look at the GBA RPGs. Second place goes to the PSP, as there are quite a few gems on that one, more than are native to the PS3. (And the ability to access the PS1 classics is a nice bonus.) On the console side... I guess the 360 has a slight edge? But with future potential, I'd say all 3 are really about even. The PS2 easily beats them all.

DS has a clear lead, probably for the rest of the generation.

360 and PS3 are very close. The big differences are Lost Odyssey and Mass Effect(s) vs Demons Souls and possibly a better version of FF13.

For Console JRPGs this Generation it would have to be PS3 if you Import games from Japan there are many JRPGs that have been released in Japan this Generation that still have not arrived in the West EG White Knight Chronicles it is arriving in the West this year but the Japanese Version was out in November 2008 and this month and next month is there are 4 JRPGs for PS3 in Japan Last Rebellion, EOE and SO4 International and Ar Tonelico 3.

DS > PSP > 360 = PS3

PC > Every console ever together.
With the exception of PS360, you can play most of the console games on it. And even most of the WRPG's on PS360 are also available on PC.

And PSP > DS for handhelds. PSP/PS1/SNES/GB(A)/SMD > GBA/DS obviously

I can see why it's stupid for it to be winning against DS... But in consoles, it's entirely possible if you are a big JRPG fan.
