Anyway, besides that one, I don't think the games are "meh" there just aren't as many good ones as there were last year or the year before, or in JUST Q1 of next year. :P

...no...I just told you, it's not the games that were released, it's the lack of AAA quality titles released compared to previous years. I want my Fallout 3's, my Orange Boxes, My Gears, my Galaxies, my Zeldas, my GTA's and Brawls, and my Vesperias, Valkyrias, and my Radiant Dawns. My Mass Effects, my LBPs, and my DMCs.

What I got was a hugely dissapointing Q1 and Q2, with an overhyped shooter(KZ2) some mediocre followups(RE5) and a pretty average Xmas season with the bright light being the great, but relatively short lived Uncharted 2 and the PC version of Dragon Age Origins.

There were some good games, don't get me wrong. MW2 was great, and Muramasa:TDB was fantastic, imho. Punchout was good, and so were a ton of downloadable titles, but I just didn't really have a year of games that matched any of the previous few years, and enough godly games got pushed to Q1/Q2 of next year, that I have no doubt this year will be eclipsed by summer 2010, with freakin Final Fantasy XIII, Gran Turismo, God of War, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell, Crackdown 2, Dante's Inferno, Bayonetta, Heavy Rain, WKC, Mario Galaxy 2, MAG, and that's just the very few top tier games I can come up with, are released. I mean, just those are better than all of this year, very probably, and that's probably half of the Q1/Q2 top tier games that will be released. Just think of what 2010 will be by Xmas of next year, with probably new Halo game, Gears game, Motion controllers releasing, maybe new Zelda game, Rare game, The Last Gaurdian maybe, Fallout: New Vegas, Starcraft II and probably an assload of other games.

I mean really, on paper, this year is shit compared to half of next year's lineup, isn't it?

@CGI I think you are being to nice to games, namely the five games before Uncharted 2.

Well they are all good games but the "AAA" is a little much.  Given this is your opinion and I just feel you are being too nice.

People's expectations must be through the roof if this list is considered 'meh'.

Although I agree next year will probably be a better year for gaming overall.

I never said the list was "meh". I just think CGI is being too nice, and yes I do agree crossing out shift....anyways I'm going to go and play shift now.

Uncharted 2 really does deserve it, it is just incredible, and I would be shocked if it didn't win pretty much every game of the year award
