So actual numbers showed that Wii did worse than the VGchartz forecast, while DS did better.
Hopefully we'll get accurate numbers from both Sony and Microsoft pretty soon although if the general consensus is that 360 sold considerably less units than Wii and Wii sold ''just'' 550k....then we won't get any press from MS because their numbers could be abysmal for a BF week (less than 300k).
Still curious about Sony's numbers, probably they're close to 400k for NA.

They reference internal tracking numbers, which means they're reporting how much retailers sold.

Nintendo isn't talking about shipments. If they were, the wouldn't use the word "estimate" there.

If both Wii and DS were poorly tracked (admitedly, only early numbers), why would you expect PS3 to be have been accurately tracked?

No Wii would still be higher, as PS3 was slightly below 500K
