sorry the only thing emo in FF13 was lightning & this trailer has made here NOT emo thankfully

Is there a primer on the FF mythos? I haven't played a FF game in 20 years and wanted to catch up a bit.

They are aiming for 3 discs.

With the overwhelming power it will take to run Final Fantasy XIII, Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase confirmed that the 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII will ship on multiple discs, as previously thought.

“This is not the final count as we’re still working on it, but we’re aiming for about three discs for the Xbox 360 version,” he stated when talking about the number of discs. After that, he then when on to assure that the two versions of the game will be practically identical, although he did concede that there will be “subtle differences” between the two.

“The 360 version and the PS3 version should be pretty much equal, both in terms of content and the visuals as well,” he continued. ”Since the hardware is different, there might be some subtle differences if you compare screenshots side by side, but the team’s being very careful about the compression of the data and the visuals, so that it’s exactly the same on both.”

I hope they do some really cool art on the discs and and awesome box for the 360 version. Not like the normal PS1 days. But really cool cases and disc arts. Thats what I really want to see. The 3 or 4 different disc arts they come up with.

Id be highly surprised if they got that... And slightly worried too, Lost Odyssey isn't THAT long and no where near as good looking, yet was on 4 discs.

I wouldnt worry. M$ compression agent for 360 is considered one of the best compression agents. There is also talk of being able to install all discs to HDD then playing the whole game with the first disc in the drive. Meaning no disc swapping for HDD owners.

Maybe, i still see it at least being 4 discs though... The game just looks huge.

That would take up a LOT of space on the HDD, 2-3 discs being installed... Might only work well for people with 120GB+ HDD's

Remeber 360 discs max at 6.8gb for game space. So installing Lost Odyssey for me took about 26 gb if I remeber. 4 discs. If it's 3 it will be under 20 and 4 I would say would be around 26. 60 gb owners should be fine to. After all, I dont keep games installed when I finish with them. I install a game that I know I will play at that time to the end. FF13 will be a game you play to death, so you could take all other installs off.

True, but still impracticle. Lets hope they can keep it down to 3 discs if people are wanting to install.

That's another reason why im getting the PS3 version. No installs.
