No, I made a typo, I was typing multiple posts at once, edited it once I realized I had called DS a console on accident

It might fail on another consoe, but the DS is a handheld system and as DQ showed, it would succeed there, probably far more than an FF even on the PS2

Excuses. You admitting PSP is a console is saved for all time, and will be brought up whenever someone laughs at your prediction.

How have DS JRPG's sold in the west? I cant be arsed going to look. But afaik, none other than Pokemon have done overly well.

And your point is? If DS RPG's sell more than PS3 RPG's which we know it will, as FF13 is going to sell poorly in Japan, and be split in the west, then no real point of having them on the PS3 over the DS, where it is cheaper to make an FF game anyways

As I pointed out, FF13 is much more hyped and important to the PS3 than those games were on their system, FF13 is expected to be one of the big PS3 games of the gen, not to mention, most FF's sell better than 2 million in Japan, so for FF13 to sell less, is poorly, for another game, selling the same wouldn't be performing poorly, as that game isn't as hyped or as important, those three you listed weren't as important or hyped, so them doing less isn't great, but isn't as bad as FF13 underperforming is.

Its like if NSMB only sold 10-15 million, it would be much more disappointing than other games selling 10-15 million, for NSMB the bar for success is much higher

Hopefully they arent just milked franchises releasing new games (GH6) or games we know that are going to be released (CoD7)

If they release sequels to classic games, or new IP's I'll be happy

FF13 preorders are tracking above FF12's preorders right now, with a month still to go until release.

FF12 managed 1.8 Million week 1 in Japan and finished with 2.42 Million sales.

I fully expect FF13 to surpass 2 Million sales on PS3 in Japan alone.
