He has a point if he has a point, didn't need to add his opinion on the site... then again a lot of people don't need to add their opinion on a lot of things in forums.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

The Official Huge Monster Hunter Thread:

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

Picking out 3-4 games (particularly PC versions) and then stating random numbers with no source as proof of error could be done with any tracking service.

Oh no, somebody with 0 posts doesn't like the site anymore.

Tell you what, why don't you make your own sales tracking site, provide the data for free, and make it more accurate than VGC. Then send us the link and we'll sign up.

Until then, live with it or go elsewhere.

The numbers are valve's retail shipments as of about a year ago.

Most people should already be aware that The Orange Box is a bit undertracked. It's tough to keep up with an inventory of over 50,000+ games on here (although not all are tracked since are last gen, last last gen, etc.)

Agreed.

Without even looking into the particular games mentioned, if anyone is expecting a free service on the internet to accurately track the sales of over 50 000+ games when as recently as last gen there wasn't even any accurate paid tracking service in many of the major territories, you are expecting too much.

The hardware tracking is very good. Software tracking for most new major releases is very good and the advantage you get with this site is that the information is updated weekly. There are plenty of other sources on the internet that can confirm or provide better historical data for games sales but we don't ride them for not updating weekly, that's the strength of this site.

OP - This thread could have been done a lot better

Instead of phrasing it as if you are annoyed at the VGChartz staff, phrase it as if you want to help improve numbers
Instead of not providing sources for the sales figures, try uh, providing sources for the sales figures.
