Couldn't u really asked something more relevant, or interesting? How does ur question help this thread at all? Are u sure it doesn't derail it even more? No need 2 answer any of this, it's rhetorical. And btw, no, more like 22. I just don't care to "go there" if necessary to prove a point in particular (or at least try). It's not like I'm di only 1 here doing it, anyway.

You're 22? Congratulations. Here's your problem...you post like you're 13. You blatantly listed a bunch of games that aren't even B- Wii titles DESPITE the fact that there are many AAA games for the platform, all so you can satisfy your HARDCORRRRRREZ fanboyism. Come back and post somewhat intelligently, or troll on back to the 360 forum.

With that success, a sequel should've been a no-brainer, but when Namco made Soul Calibur III, they dropped multiplatform support and went PS2 exclusive. I don't know exactly why Namco didn't put SCIII on the Cube, but if that's how they treat a system that was built to directly compete against the competition, why would Nintendo want to try and make the Wii more like the HD consoles. |
Tehy probably either got a exclusivity deal or felt they could sell more by targeting a 'demographic'. Aka the 'edgy teenagers'. Either way, it wasn't smart, as, like you said, the GameCube version sold more. But partially that happened because of the use of Link.
Thing is, its been shown when Third Parties actually produce an honest effort, such as SCII, Resident Evil 4 or on the Wii like with Monster Hunter Tri or the Resident Evil games, they CAN do well. Its just most third parties ditched the Wii from the start of this gen and found every excuse possible not to work on the Wii, even after it overtook the other systems. Even to the point of putting shovelware on the system and claiming the less than stellar sales for those games were a sign the system was flawed. Eventhough some of that shovelware is actually selling over a million...
After readin the piece and reading the responses by some Nintendo fans in this thread I kinda get the feeling that they're rubbing off on each other.
Its like; "We're so unique and awesome, we don't need your HD filth and games."
At the same time, its also; "This is so unfair, we don't get these games, Wii haters!"
There's a reason why I almost always buy more than one console each gen and there's certainly a reason why I'm upset every time the Wii squad on Vgchartz claims superiority when it comes to maturity and insight.

Wow i just look at those games in that list and think how similar in gaemplay styles they all are with the exception of tekken and sf4 it's all a little samey |
You're kind of blind if you think all these games have the same gameplay style. This is a mix of FPS, Action/Adventure, TPS, WRPG, JRPG, Action RPG's and more. I respect Nintendo and anyone here knows that, but they marketed the Wii to only one demographic and that is casuals. The hardcore have to take what they can get on that system. The majority of the hardcore titles are on the HD Twins.

Seriously, can we stop using the words 'hardcore' and 'casual'? Nintendo isn't marketing to 'casuals'. That was a word made up by the same people who tried to use the word 'hardcore' to elevate the games they like from other games.
Nintendo tries to target their games to 'everyone', not 'casuals'. Games like Metroid, Mario and Zelda are not 'casual', they're for 'all ages'. Likewise, games like GTA, God of War and MGS are not 'hardcore'. They're mearly games targeted towards certain groups. Using the blanket term of 'hardcore' doesn't even work because not everyone who likes MGS likes God of War.

Casual= people who don't generally play videogames or don't care enough to get better because how complicated console and controllers have become.
The Wii was created with families in mind, so they had to add the casual element and it worked. They marketed the Wii as an easy to use system to escape everyday life. You can enjoy it with your friends and family. They broke the casual market because of this. Sony has been trying for this market and has never been able to reach them despite stellar sales in the past.

Even if you're going to keep using that term, Nintendo isn't just targeting that market. Games like Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, Smash Bros Brawl, Fire Emblem Path of Radiance and even New Super Mario Bros Wii arguably are all games focused away from this group. If anything, the only games that hit that market are the 'Wii' titles and games like Nintendogs.

Nah, I differ. I don't think there's any problem with the way I post, or that it might necessarily sound like the post of a 13 year old. If u think so, that's ur opinion, and I don't give a damn about it. About the bunch of games I listed (jeez, since when is 3 considered a "bunch"?) LOL, weren't u supposed to defend the wii? U're calling those 3 games less than B-titles, yet a lot of wii fans praise them and like them (actually I read a hilarious Cooking Momma review about 2 years ago, maybe more), not me of course. Why don't u instead name a few of those wii AAA games that u consider 2b HQ titles, since not everybody has the same gaming taste as u do, and even a lot of wii fans won't necessarily agree with u?
Ah, accusing someone of being a fanboy,... isn't that original? In this case, a hardcore fanboy! Well, at least that's still relatively new, isn't it? Believe it if u want to, and u do, but I can't admit it because it isn't true. I DO like some casual games (da 1's I consider good) just not EVERY CASUAL GAME, if that makes any1 a "casual hater", then whatever DRAMA QUEEN.
Oh, what a nerve! U must really listen 2 ur own advice, dude, since u're not good @ making intelligent posts at all. In case u've forgotten, your previous reply was, "how old are you? 13?" OMG, what a masterpiece of reply, your brilliance shines through every pore of your skin, indeed. NOOOOT, all u did was derailing the thread like I told u before, and u again did it partly with ur lameness in this last comment.
P.S. Here's ur problem, u take gamer's comments on videogame sites waaaaaaaaaaaay too seriously. If u can't handle it, it might b better 4u to leave for good since u're not really an "internet person".
