That's true, we're always in the top four countries for medals in the Olympics yet we have a population of only 21 million. More Aussies would just make everyone else in this thread look bad, just like in the Olympics.

I don't understand why this game would be out in Australia before the rest of the world. What's the logic behind that?

Perhaps because we get our games released on a Thursday and they didn't need a whole lot of games for our population so they thought 'f**k it, lets release it there this week instead of having them wait."
They could also have wanted to release it in a small market to create a bit of internet hype, us Aussie's saying how awesome it is (which it is) will probably create even larger demand for the launch in Europe and the US.
It could also have been an experiment to see how it'd go up against MW2 but Nintendo didn't wanna screw up the launch in an important region so they picked Australia. There are many possible explanations.
