I played the crap out of Dark Cloud 2....but to be honest, that whole "build the area" thing just made it too complicated. It was a fun simple game during the dungeons, but the "build the area" part always made me look at the internet, and it kind of killed it for me as one of my favorite titles.

Some interesting games have been mentioned. Amazon shall be consulted.

Done Sly,Jak 1, and all Onimusha series.
Grandia 3 was never released in europe which I'm very sad..
Anyway, War of Monster might be the number one.

I think Grandia II deserves a mention. I liked it.

Also, some of the Working Designs PS2 games were pretty good.
