5.5/10
+ Great level designs
+ Great graphics
+ Limited inventory space and scarce ammo. I liked that you were forced to conserve your ammo and take items you were going to use. It felt old school.
+ Boss battles were good for the most part.
+/- Co-op. I loved playing RE5 with friends, but when I want to play this game on my own, I don't want an AI controller partner to tag along. I just want to go solo. It sucks because that bitch got in danger a few times, and I had to save her. She also died a couple of times on me which got me a game over and thus I had to restart the level.
+/- Controls. The controls felt a little stiff, but I got used to it. But the controls were an issue in the last two chapters which I'll get to in a minute. At least they gave us four control types to choose from.
- The last two chapters. I was loving RE5 up until chapter 4 & 5 just for one reason: the enemies. It went from a great survival-action game to a terrible third-person shooter. The enemies had guns. It was awful seeing this. The cover system was poorly implemented, and you couldn't walk while aiming. This made the last two chapters even more terrible. You mean to tell me that some trained cop or whatever the hell he is can't aim while walking? Because this was 40% of the campaign, it's an automatic 4 points off. I never replayed RE5 thanks to these two chapters.
- Weak ending and character development.
