Yes. Pandemic and Bioware were joint company, which EA bought 700 million dollars. MS did consider buying BiowarePandemic, but they said that price was just too high. MS did pay from Rare $375 million and from Bungie $20 - 40 million.

They turned down the $700million for BioWare...

But payed $375million for Rare...

The Bungie deal was an amazing one.

There are only a few What ifs for ms xbox360 this generation. Things where I think that MS made huge mistakes.

The most obvious is offcourse the whole rrod debacle.

But for me personally, what if MS didnt sell Bioware (and in lesser extent Bungie and ended the halo wars studio). They still would have had big exclusives like dragon age and the rumours about mass effect wouldnt exist. I think that Bioware delivers 'blizzard quality content', something thats very rare, there are only a handfull of studio's where I dont even need to read the review to know that the game they are making is one I want to have and Bioware is one of them.

Bungie is not that important right now, and maybe that one was inevitable, but once they make other stuff than Halo games we might regret it as well if it turns out to be a multiplatform game.

Can you think of other what if's....

Does anyone else think it's wrong to call Ensemble "The Halo Wars studio"?

What if Rare had continued to be even half the company they used to be back in the 90s?

I think it's a disrespect to the other great games Ensemble has made.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

M$ "let go" Bioware...I'll assume you mean "let go" in the sense of the fact of them not buying it, not in the sense of them selling it off...I really don't think some of EA's studios are off the table for M$ at this point, and it's pobably a matter of price.

I think it is merely a case of somebody not remembering what they were called, so calling them the Halo Wars studio is merely convenience, even though it was not necessarily their best work

Microsoft did not own Bioware or Bizzare Creations.

^^ What was amazing was how it was treated as fact...lol.
