The same reason why COD 4 sold so many consoles even though other cod games were already released on the systems

darth, chill out man. o.o; And of course it did a bigger bump, when Uncharted 1 came out no knew if it was going to be great or not. Since Uncharted delivered, Uncharted 2 was expected to give a slight hardware boost and sell a good amount of software during its first week. I still have yet to buy my copy, but I will. All in all, the Uncharted series might become a mini system seller IP now.

The first title was a new IP and sleeper hit that went very much under the radar initially.

The second received incredible reviews and was given huge marketing.

Of course it would shift more hardware...

Since early September PS3 has been proving people wrong and killing predictions time and time again.
