2. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Really?  That's one of my favorite Wii games.

Switch Code: SW-7377-9189-3397 -- Nintendo Network ID: theRepublic -- Steam ID: theRepublic

Now Playing
Switch - Super Mario Maker 2 (2019)
3DS - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Trilogy) (2005/2014)
Mobile - Yugioh Duel Links (2017)
Mobile - Super Mario Run (2017)
PC - Borderlands 2 (2012)
PC - Deep Rock Galactic (2020)

My own top 5:

1. Metal Gear Solid 4-I had the highest of expectations for this game. I love the series to death. This game just didn't do it for me. Too many reasons to really get into it.

2. Resident Evil 5-It was just boring for me. I don't think it's necessarily the game's fault either, as I just feel the industry has advanced past what RE4 brought to the table. Gears of War took it and expanded, and RE5 basically is stuck in neutral. The game needs better enemy AI and better combat. If it's going to go shooter, that's cool, but don't half ass it. Go balls to the wall shooter.

3. Killzone 2-I feel this is my own damn fault for being a typical forum sheep this once. I listened to the hype. I took it in and I bought a game based on the suggestions of this forum entirely. It was the first and last time that will happen. The game just felt poorly constructed from a gameplay standpoint. I disliked the constant clutter of dust and blood drops that got in the way of my vision. I really disliked the overly large maps that required me to trek a thousand yards after every death to get back in the action. The game just wasn't for me, and I had the forum making me believe it was. I should have gotten Valkyria Chronicles, Disgaea 3 or LittleBigPlanet instead.

4. Gears of War 2-Let me be clear. The campaign met and exceeded my wildest expectations. It was so good I could barely pull myself away from the controller. However, that broken multiplayer just threw me off. It was so bad I swore it off for COD and have never looked back since. Between the horrid matchmaking setup, to the throwing you out of a room post match, to the inability to get a match up for the first 5-10 minutes of waiting, I couldn't have been more disappointed. I'll still buy the next Gears of War for the superb campaign, but I'll be very aprehensive towards the online until I know it's better.

5. All Pro Football 2K8-So much potential this game had. A great developer was behind it. A who's who of football legends were featured. Yet everything that could have gone wrong did. No advancement over NFL 2K5 was made gameplay wise. Madden had left it in the dust by the time this game came out. Your teams could never be the fantasy teams you envisioned coming into purchasing the game. You were only allowed one gold player, which are the legendary HOF types. Do I really want to pick who I want between a HOF QB like Marino, RB like Simpson or WR like Rice? No dumbasses. I want all three! The presentation present under the ESPN license just wasn't there anymore. The team customizations weren't nearly enough. Overall, terrible attempt. I hope they give it another go one day after having listened to the complaints, and attempting to rectify all of them.

i can't agree more with this list, especially with fable 2.

lol, I'm no scientist, but I sense a pattern here, with one small variant.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Haze was a huge disappointment by anyone's standards.

About Fable II, the game itself was pretty meh once you figured out how to completely break the combat but that said, it has probably one of the greatest endings of all time.

Magic is specially game-breaking in Fable 2. Unlimited use since it lacks mana (the genre-convention for limiting the use of it) and it always lands for full effect (it lacks saves/resist throws/inmunities*). Giving the player unlimited and unrestrained use of 100% effective crowd-control tools is a recipe for disaster.

*sure the undead suffer bigger damage from fire but it doesn't matter at all - since you aren't bound by mana, efficiency is irrelevant.

Well, magic was by far the weakest weaon in the game.

Au contraire, mon ami.

Lvl1 time stop and Lvl2 lighting is enough to get through the whole game with the sole exception of the trolls. You won't even get hit, if you are somewhat dexterous. Just spam area time stop, area lighting. Of course higher levels will make the process easier and quicker, but the game handles you an unbeatable combo straight off the gipsy camp.

Far before you can get any decent weapon, I might add.

5. ???

4. Samurai Shodown Anthology. There's no Samurai Shodown V Special, Samurai Shodown V lacks the pre-fight intros, cutscenes, & character specific endings, & Samurai Shodown II somehow lacks the fatalities, & no language select for any of the games.

3. King of Fighters Collection: Orochi Saga. Doesn't allow you to use the arranged music during game play, having to unlock the bosses if you want to use them during gameplay instead of just having to input a code, & no color edit.

2. SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1. No option to use the arranged music for any of the games that do have it, no games that were from the pre-NeoGeo days, lame selection of games, no color edit for any of the fighting games, the bad guy in Magician Lord has a weird, reverb effect in his voice for some reason & a couple of other emulation issues for a few other games, having to unlock the move lists for the fighting games if you want to see them.

1. Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

I don't know what to put for #5.
