lol funny how all the fanboys tried to stop Master Chief from winning the first round.

That's more than obvious: http://www.gamespot.com/greatest-video-game-hero/vote/index.html?battle_id=17

Whatever. Bub and Bob are just superior heroes. The real fanboys are the ones who voted for Master Chief.

Sure lol.

First round: 58291 Votes vs. 66934 Votes

Highest and 2nd highest result of all 1st round match-ups.

In the next round Bub & Bob suddenly have 20.000 votes less. And even in the 3rd round they couldn't beat their 1st round result. One would think that the votes go up, but they don't.

Absolutely deserved. Go GFreeman.

Also this isn't about which hero is more well known or more popular, it's about the greatness of a hero. Which Gordon has in spades.

Gordon Freeman? Really? Not saying he isn't an awesome character, but he's definitely not top tier in terms of overall popularity.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Is this a joke? Gordon Freeman is easily one of the most popular videogame characters. Easily more popular than Link, Snake and Master Chief.

Honestly I can't tell if you are just joking around or you actually believe the stuff you type. Gordon Freeman is not more popular than Link and Master Chief and you could argue Snake. When people even in this thread are going who is Gordon Freeman, you know that is a clear sign. Next thing you know you will say World of Warcraft is bigger than Pokemon.

Shio is wrong. Way more people know about master chief than Gordon Freeman... non gamers and even some gamers dont know gordon exists... while tons of non gamers know who master chief is...

Sorry Shio, I'm all for supporting the PC gamer master race, but there are times when we must concede defeat.

How do you know?

Half Life 1 has sold over 10 Million copies, that is without counting Steam sales.

Half Life 2 had sold way over 6.5 Million copies, again without Steam sales.

The Orange Box has sold over 3 Million copies at retail since 2007.

Don't underestimate the popularity of Gordon.

No Halo, Zelda or Metal Gear Solid game has ever sold as much as either Half-Life 1 and 2. What does that tell you? The fact that Freeman already won against Link and Snake in this Gamespot character contest further proves it, especially considering Gamespot is pretty much a console-centric gaming website, and only available in english language (and US and UK are both very console-centric markets).

And yes, World of Warcraft is bigger than Pokemon... WoW makes over $1 billion every year, which would equate to dozens of millions of units sold every year, if we changed the subscription money into actual unit sales.
