I don't care at all about Silent Hill. I've NEVER been a fan of the series, however my beef with that statement is that how could any developer make such a claim? No one's got the balls to put a big series on the Wii and see what happens. They're just assuming that it won't sell on the Wii, but you release it for the 360 or the PS3 and then just hope to break even. It's like someone else said in a thread earlier: Nintendo's going to have to do it all themselves because third-party developers ain't gonna help.. which is a shame seeing as how the Wii is one huge cash cow. Your game has to really, really suck to not make money on the Wii.

Nintendo has openly gone after the casual market, its the prime reason for its success. I don't understand why Nintendo owners who are so open to boasting about the systems success are so unwilling to acknowledge why that success has occurred. Seriously, take the good with the bad (or what is apparently bad).

Yes, the Wii has some hardcore games, and yes it has some hardcore gamers but it was never designed to be a "hardcore" system it was designed to be the ultimate casual system. This approach will have many strengths and some weaknesses. I do not see why Nintendo fans would have an issue with acknowledging that, it seems a little childish to me.

Go konami and watch SH struggle to pass 500.000 units.

I'm pleased by finally hearing of a Japanese developer who realises most people who buy his games live in the West, but he seems to be completely oblivious to the appeal and true nature of the userbase of the Wii.

I suppose it's up to us to prove him wrong, eh? =P

WTF is a "hardcore" system?

What is childish is the over generalization of a user base without any proof.

If you don't put adequate hardcore games on the Wii Montanna, what is going to sell best on the Wii, non-hardcore games. Don't try and hide the fact that Konami is pulling a typical questionable marketing strategy, the only realism they seem to be grasping here in their approach to this game is the danger of PS3 exclusivity.

A better argument would be that the Wii couldn't handle the game's graphics. This hardcore bull is just silly and you know it.

Hardcore means someone who started playing VG from 5th generation onwards. 3D games, FMV and voice acting FTW!!!

Don't push it Soriku, there is ample reason for a company to not want to invest in adjusting the graphics of their games for a Wii version.

Konami should up development on the Wii, but don't be offended when they have a reason for not putting a game on other platforms. The Wii can't have all the games in the world.

Anyways, I've noticed the 2 typical responses I was watching for:

"I don't care/haven't heard about the game/series"

or...

"It won't sell well"
