None of the milestone threads are dumb, IMO, they are actually quite informative...


XBox 360 milestone was that it sold 1 million units in Japan. Something no U.S. game console had ever done before. That's a milestone. PS3 outselling the original XBox, Gamecube, 3DO, Jaguar, etc is not a milestone. If it outsold the PS2 or even the PS1, or even the DS, then yes that's a milestone. Yes, the thread is still dumb to me.

Kantor's statment is just, there were many people saying it was going the way of the dreamcast, and see'n it outsell the original xbox is worthy of praise since the original xbox despite being a new console sold really well.

milestones are milestones.  Yes we all know that that PS3 didn't live up to the PS1 or PS2.  Now if you don't like people all being happy because their console of choice reached a sales milestone than kindly go away.

I fail to see how this is a troll thread. Trolling is making assertions without proof against a person/console/whatever. I have proof. How is this different from, say, the thread about the Wii overtaking the 360 that I'm sure was created at some point two years ago?
