Forums - Sales - So TOV PS3 OUTSOLD TOV Xbox 360 in 1 week alone!..thoughts?

I'm not sure about the west in general, I definitely think the 360 will take NA though (as long as there's no problems with the 360 version). I'd bet for NA once it's clear the X360 version doesn't have any major problems.

Also, nobody said anything about WRPG's and shooters selling better on the 360. Just about everything has sold better on the 360 in NA, Japanese or not. This includes franchises that rose on the PS, like Resident Evil or Devil May Cry. It's tough to overcome a userbase twice as big.

As for Batman: Arkham Asylum, even with the PS3 extras helping the game, the 360 may still outsell it (better legs on the higher userbase console?). We'll see.

Honestly,JRPG are boring,hell 99% of RPG are boring to me.

 

Best RPG's this gen IMO

Fable 2 and Valk Chronicles.

 

Everything else = Just another RPG,been there done that

not suprised at all, its a port with extras. thats what the japanese jrpg gamers like more content. also since the ps brand is known for jrpg's and the xbox brand isnt, not suprised at all and never will be.

3x userbase+ new model release= big sales...no body needs to be a genius to figure this out..

If it sells 500k LTD then ill be impressed..

no its a surpise cause the people who r interested in jrpg or rpgs on a whole own a ps3 xb360 owners mainly play shooters i bet when they brin TOV to NA and EU its goin to do the same thing as JAP

What's more impressive is that one week of sales in one territory alone came to over 50% of the 360 version's worldwide LTD.

they don't care being out of sync with the rest of the world, just like they don't care about iphone and FPS games.

the world doesn't always have to follow the trends in America.

 

+1 if everyone was a follower then the world would be without choices.  They are not the ones out of sync, it is the rest of the world (gaming wise) that are trying to "emulate" their greatest gift to gaming the RPG.  Those WRPG everyone praises only came about because of the ingenuity of the Great gaming masters of the far East. 

WRPGs' lineage comes more directly from CRPGs, which have had more "role playing" than any of the so called JRPGs have ever had - i.e. Baldur's Gate, etc.

So I'm curious, what exactly qualifies it as being THE platform for HD JRPGs?

The highest selling JRPG this gen is Lost Odyssey.

In fact, out of the top 10 best selling JRPGs at the moment, 7 of them are Xbox 360 games and 5 of those are currently exclusives, soon to be 4 when SO4 is released for the PS3.

So what metric are you using to make that claim?

I remember last year when some 360 guys like Starcraft (where is that guy? Haven't seen him on VGC in awhile) were saying that 360 can sell JRPGs more than PS3 can and they used games like Enchanted arms and Folklore and compared it to The lost Oddysey and Blue Dragon. "Aha, now the rubber-band is on the other claw!"
