Forums - Sales Discussion - European Users: How well is PS3 selling in Europe?

It would have been kind or hard for Sony to claim limited supply when shelves in NA and Japan are fully stocked. Now Euro shelves will be fully stocked with PS3s too. Is there really any reason for Sony to continue producing units at these sales levels?

This is one of the reasons I anticipate that Sony will be forced to reduce the price of the PS3 at E3. Sony will attempt to continue to produce and ship as many units as they can which will result in Sony having full warehouses and every retailer having full stock while the PS3 continues to sell reasonably slowly; in 2 months they will be left with the options of stopping production (which will come with very bad press) or cutting the price ...

in UK, BELGIUM, HOLLAND, LUXEMBOURG 90% of ps3s are sold out. The remaining 10 would be sold out in a couple of days. http://kotaku.com/gaming/game/uk-retailer-happy-with-ps3-supply-and-demand-246463.php the SPANISH LAUNCH was mindblowing. You clearly had a lot of people in these queues. http://kotaku.com/gaming/ps3/ps3-fever-hits-prague-no-really-246522.php the prague launch was superb too. i mean it all comes down to number of units which were sold...ps3 would sell out within a week or 2.

The Dutch launch sucked: Only in Eindhoven there were 50 people at the Replay... In my city u can get it everywhere... Sometimes even with 50% less payment for a HD tv... And still, everyone is buying Wii stuff... Even NGC controllers are sold out because of Wii sales!

THE NETHERLANDS

yea but at LAUNCH there were not may people. the HOLLAND launch looked grim too.Sales figures convey something otherwise .same goes to UK. so by today SONY could expect to sell something around 700k ---1 m. yes by every means it was a DECENT launch. The status could become EXCELLENT within a few days. We keep our fingers crossed.

around 46k/50k ps3s are sold out in HOLLAND.so just like other places LAUNCH PARTY SUCCESS is irrelevant ITALY(more like having 15% allocation status i guess), PRAGUE, BELGIUM have achieved the SOLD out status. UK, HOLLAND is probably around 90% at the moment.

You keep saying sold out. Pre-order numbers are meaningless until the customer actually pays. And we won't know how many people actually paid for their units for weeks. For all we know, scalpers could have pre-ordered those units and will never pay for them because they know it won't fetch a good price on eBay.

a party (like in prague) with 1000 ps3 and 200 people is everything but not a big party fishyjoe you are right - preorders are no real sales but the truth will hopefully come out once :)

in UK you have to pay $150 in order to pre-order. amazon FRANCE sold around 2k ps3s at LAUNCH. www.amazon.fr ps3 is also no1 bestseller....so the LAUNCH PARTY doesnt tell the real story so the LAUNCH event doesnt convey the right message. around 500k ps3s are already sold which surpasses what x360/Wii sold in a whole launch week period(350k)
