This is one of the reasons I anticipate that Sony will be forced to reduce the price of the PS3 at E3. Sony will attempt to continue to produce and ship as many units as they can which will result in Sony having full warehouses and every retailer having full stock while the PS3 continues to sell reasonably slowly; in 2 months they will be left with the options of stopping production (which will come with very bad press) or cutting the price ...
