North america wont go back to the 360 imo, but they will be close, UK might go back to the 360, it was only a 50 pound cut, needs another one to sustain it for the ps3. Again its just an assumption, I may LIKELY by completely wrong. JAPAN will be the main player, do sales go back sub 50k, or do they suprise us all?

OT, I think Italy and Spain have a chance, but the rest of Europe not sure. Beat the 360 yes, Wii probably not. On the sales in Aus, well the PS3 was $699 for a long time, and most department stores didn't give it much fanfare, places like KMart and other more casual stores just didn't advertise it. Plus Aus has been sold out of PS3's for nearly a month now, which was why sales were so low. Given the lack of attention stores were giving the PS3 before, word of the Slim has been slow to get out, but at $499 its only $100 more than Wii (still around $250 more than Arcade, 360 is very cheap in Aus), so I'd say sales will be steady for a while at this elevated rate as word of the price cut gets out, as stores are advertising pretty heavily now for PS3, something that just never used to happen.

I just find it a little funny that some PS3 fans are determined to pass/beat the 360 in sales only(well it seems that way to me).....maybe they feel that the wii is no competition(though it has sold +50million units) or know for a fact there's no way the PS3 can catch up.

though I'm going to sound like a hypocite....do I think the PS3's the better system,(yes) would I like it to beat the 360?(yes) but if it doesn't I wouldn't care less, if you think your system is better that you should just be glad about owning the system.

It's far too presumptuous. Just because Sony drops the price and introduces the slim to massive 9,000% sales increases you suddenly think, after just 1 week they are gonna take over the world. Other Europe, yes the PS3 will probably get on top for a couple of months but Spain and Italy? Sorry but no. Just looking at the huge % increase will give you the answer. This sort of boost will not be maintained for long. You are jumping the gun hugely after just 1 week of sales.

This topic was actually about the potential for the PS3 to beat the Wii in some region :) So ya at least their selectively aiming for higher grace.

Still I don't think it much to celebbrate about. Win or lose, the PS3 was a costly lesson for Sony that I hope will make them wake up and realize that a more consumer oriented approach to their console and marketing is neccessary to climb up to the top.

Mostly because the Wii hasn't actually launched in most of the larger countries in other other :P
